If Jenny Price wants to be unarmed - that's her choice but she ought to keep her grubby hands off those of us who own guns!

has worked passionately to make guns safer Yep, safer guns, safer bullets, dynamite, etc. That's the ticket.

Guns don't kill sons, mother-in-laws do...eventually.

This woman, author, is out of her mind. She cannot handle her own emotions and thereby seeks to punish EVERYONE and because she can't cope. It's the feminist mantra: If one woman is raped anywhere in the world, ALL WOMEN ARE BEING RAPED.
This woman needs to get a grip and recognize that she is NOT the center of the universe. The world and reality does not spin around her ego-centric sense of the world.
She seeks to punish everyone but only in order to deny coping with her own suffering. If she can be an activist, she thereby thinks it will lessen her suffering -- that she is DOING something.
She doesn't need to do anything other than properly grieve. IN solitude and with God. The longer she puts off her grieving, the worse her life will become. The pattern of denying loss and pain and suffering will continue to afflict itself upon her as a pattern for her to use at all times. In short form, she will become a raving shrew.
But she doesn't know this. She'll get some Cindy Sheehan fawning, and she'll, in her confused psyche, think she's doing right. She's not. Her loss is very personal. She's not treating this as a personal loss. She'll end up in a quagmire of her own creation, and rather than look at her denials, blame others.

I noticed that she mentioned statistics, but didn't cite any of them. I Wonder Why that is?

What a witch! We don't tell her how to live her life and what material objects she can or can't own. Why does she feel the need to tell everyone else how to live? That's the definition of a fascist. She deserves every bad name she's been called.

What is this woman's point? Does she contend that the gun laws of Los Angeles and California could or should have kept her brother's mother-in-law from getting the gun she used to kill her own daughter and son-in-law? If not, then all that followed in attacks on her was logical.
The L.A. Times is rife with politically biased articles. That's the starting point for research on any article which appears there, and seems to have holes in it. Because she wrote for a "newspaper" which publishes the likes of Robert Scheer, a detailed examination was appropriate.
I'm not a "gun nut." I'm just a follower of the Constitution, ALL of the Constitution. Unlike Jenny -- and many other self-appointed do-gooders -- I do not consign to the trash can any part of the Constitution which interferes with my chosen political outcome in any situation. And THAT is the great divide between the likes of Jenny and the likes of the more polite citizens of FR.
Jenny, I hope you Google this. Though I doubt you will understand it.

" "You know," a friend tried to reassure me, "these are just guys who sit in front of their computers at 3 a.m. in their underwear."
Isn't that what that chap from CBS said too, when Dan Rather's Bush TANG memos were exposed to be fraudulent by conservative web sites?
And look what happened to Dan rather after that. :)
And when did you have to be in suit in order to think or write clearly?
Didn't Archimedes discover that, an object plunged into liquid becomes lighter by an amount equal to the weight of liquid it displaces, while he was all naked in a bath?

But when these gun-obsessed guys in their underwear talk to like-minded guys, they build a community that reinforces a level of intolerance that is off the charts. Intolerance in defence of Liberty is no vice.
Even when in your underwear.

I don't belive her.
A mother shoots....(women rarely use guns) and kills, not wounds, but kills both her daughter and her boyfriend? And the supposed story can't be found, even though it made it in the 'Times' (LA Times?) and in the Daily News (NY?). Sounds like it would be a wire story too.And she doesn't give the day or year?
Yeah, right.

The discussions left me profoundly sad. "You know," a friend tried to reassure me, "these are just guys who sit in front of their computers at 3 a.m. in their underwear." Hey, it's 5:00 a.m., and I'm wearing boxers, dammit!

Well, have at it Jenny!
Give us both barrels, we can take it.
Give it your best shot.
Ps. Your son could have been killed with a carving knife
just as easily, try and place the blame where it belongs,

A woman murdered two people. This sad woman should be working to eliminate murderers not the instruments by which they murder. That's just plain stupid.
My father was murdered by his own hand that pulled the trigger 30 years ago, as a result of a mind that was troubled to the point of suicide. I am pro better mental health, not gun control, the gun didn't kill my dad, my dad killed my dad.

I can cite statistics, and I can tell you why the right to carry a 9-millimeter semiautomatic handgun with a 10-shot clip is not guaranteed by the 2nd Amendment. Then do so.
But the paranoia and bone-chilling hatred that spew from such sites as packing.org and freerepublic.com make for an equally and unusually effective argument for a ban on handguns.
Really, this whole piece is an effective argument for banning liberals.

America should be without the 2d amendment because someone's fiancee's mother is a whacko?
Yep. That makes sense.
Why not worry about something real, like how many are mindlessly killed on the highway each year?
