I wonder if the editors of the Telegraph have gotten lonelier ever since they went stark raving mad.

You have to feel sorry for all those muslim males not having time for a social life because they are too busy building all those bombs. What a sacrifice!

What a bunch of crock.

People enjoy having their own space and being independent.

That doesn't mean they're going to succumb to misery and turn into a serial killer.

Ok, I read the article and the correlation between these three statements.... "Feeling lonely?" and " With seven million people living on their own" "Britain is turning into a nation of loners" Still makes no sense to me.

Living alone, being lonely and being a loner are all different things that quite often have nothing to do with each other.

Some of the most lonely people I have know have been those living with other people. It certainly was the time when I felt the most lonely.

Being a loner is quite another thing as well and has nothing to do with either living alone or being lonely.

I can attest. I'm in good shape now, as I live with a couple of my roommates from college, but our landlord is getting married in about a year. That puts me living alone. I'm not looking forward to it. I'd never tell my landlord as such, and I am very happy that he's getting married, but it still isn't something I'm excited about.

Interesting that in my neighborhood there are 4 homes (we're talking 2 story 4 bedrooms) that were purchased within the last year by single people. One of the neighbors is older, 3 are yuppie-ish.

I'm not saying they are lonely, but they own their home alone.
Just thought it was interesting.

I'm so lonely that I talk to telemarketers. Drives them nuts cuz they can't get me off the phone and usually have to hang up on me.
