Descriptions of the alleged plot uncovered by British authorities have distinct echoes of the so-called Operation Bojinka, an attempt by supporters of al Qaeda in the mid-1990s to simultaneously destroy airliners over the Pacific using liquid explosives.
The explosives, which can be hidden in a small bottle, like those used for contact lens solution, are hard to detect, and were originally developed by Yousef, whose uncle, Mohammed, was the chief architect of the 9/11 attacks.
In December 1994, Yousef tested his device using a fraction of the explosives planned for the main bombs. Halfway through the short flight, Yousef disappeared into the toilet, took off his shoes and assembled his bomb.
Haruki Ikegami, a 24-year-old Japanese businessman returning home from Cebu, took Yousef's former seat. Two hours later the tiny device exploded, nearly tearing Ikegami in two, killing him and injuring five others. The blast blew a hole in the floor and severed the cables that controlled the plane's flaps.

One would think an airline that could boast certified, armed pilots might enjoy better business. It would be to the advantage of any airline these days to foot the bill for strict security procedures (free from government intervention WRT "discrimination") in order to gain more business. It would be to the advantage of us all if there were less regulation in regard to concealed carry.

If one really sits back and thinks about things in their totality, it is almost impossible to not believe at least somewhat in conspiracy theories. No, I'm not saying that Fedgov was behind 911, or other similar kookiness, but what is going on certainly feeds the agenda of the continual centralization of government power. The only thing that actually would have made sense for the government to have done after 911 as far as airline flight crews are concerned, is to arm them all. A blatant show of force on every single flight, with the explicit policy that there would be zero tolerance of monkey business or crap on a flight would do more to deter would-be terrorists than anything.
That didn't happen for one primary reason. It would have involved the empowerment of us, the lowly serfs to take charge of our lives and safety. Instead they completely disarmed us down to our swiss army knives. Disarming the only real barrier between us and disaster only makes sense if you are interested in continued and massive increases in government power at all levels.
It also explains why nothing was done about our borders or immigration policies despite the fact that most of the terrorists involved were here illegally on expired visas.
The IRS can tell me if I didn't properly fill out a 1099 form, but is powerless to do anything about a SS# being used by 50 people? Yeah right. Are we supposed to believe in the tooth fairy too?

Actually I saw what appeared to be a lot of mules while visiting the Middle East and they were used for transportation, especially in Cairo.
Explosive residue is the nitrates left after the burn, it is always present. In the case of TWA 800, there was so much residue that the seats were stained orange.
But they could not find it, because they lie like Muslims.

major issue is our own governments have their eye on the globalist ball and will NOT alienate any major group (i.e. muslims).
My thought on this range from pressure to avoid any trade problems resulting from overt anti-muslim-targetted efforts to pressure to think in terms of eventually world political integration, which would be set back by us declaring open war on the 25% of the world where this is coming from, particularly given that many possible recruits are citizens of the west.
all your points are good. well-presented post. no coincidence the orwellian-named patriot act was presented in full very shortly after 9/11. presumably had been on shelf for years waiting for chance to ram it through.

Your reply is the equivalent of saying that pilots are only supposed to fly safe planes in safe conditions and not be taught emergency procedures. It should be up to them to get and pay for this emergency procedure training? I would think a hijacking might be considered an emergency.
Means, motive, opportunity. The heros of Flight 93 show how we deny opportunity. The TSA pre-flight screening and the xray and other hi-tech inspections of checked luggage *attempts* to deny means.

Their cover story was REALLY stupid --apparently they WERE musicians, but the performer with whom they alleged they would be performing (somebody who was prominent and who was also Arab but traveling legitimately in the US) was UNAWARE of their "co-gig".
And these dudes were all scary --not simply rocker-type scariness, but physically the type that would be able to take the head off an average person.

Whenver someone tried (as an experiment) to cut into their very carefully arranged "bathroom ramba line", they freaked out --they REALLLLLY wanted to be fooling around in the bathroom in a verrrrrry specific order.

Ever since I was a boy, I had this sense that my Fedgove was infallible --that it was noble.
It is among the best in the world, yes, but while it is now hugely bloated, it seems somehow weak, and towards it's own these days, sometimes downright MEAN.
