I also read somewhere that many hezbollah were running out of water and food in their bunker and so they were forced to exit their bunkers and fight. Perhaps with that knowledge, Israeli leadership could not win the argument with the military to stop now.

They do grow up. My nieces who I held as infants now grown up with families of their own...and my youngest stepson now living on his own at 18...sigh (wistful and glad).

Hezbollah War Room Found

A war room operated by the Hezbollah terror organization was discovered today by forces of IDF's Nahal infantry brigade during operations in the village of Mis A-Jbal in Lebanon. Found, among other things, were observation devices connected to computerized control and recording systems, an observation and analysis post, and aerial photographs of IDF forces deployed along the northern border.

In Jewish law, it is permitted to fight on the Sabbath to save human lives. That goes back to the Maccabean times when pious Jews would rest on the Sabbath, only to discover their enemies would take advantage of it to slaughter them. So Judaism liberalized the Sabbath rule - that in the event of grave danger it is not only allowed - it is commanded by Heaven to do whatever is necessary to save lives. And reverence for life is Judaism's highest value.
