They are not only traitors, but the most dangerous element in our society, I think.

The democrats make themselves so outrageous and irrelevant, they would be nothing but laughingstocks if the MSM didn't have their backs.

I am so mad at the Dallas Morning News (again). They keep showing the kind of photos that have been revealed as either photoshopped, or, more often, staged and blaming Israel for the war.

I think I hate the press.

Very nice Dolly. It's high time Spotty got her very own memorial.

She was a lucky dog. The President of the United States of America loved her very much.

Oh Emily, you have made me remember when I left my oldest the first day of kindergarten.....I was the last parent to leave even after getting several pointed looks from the teacher. The youngest or the oldest - it's a signal to us who have nutured them, tended to their every need, that this is the first step of leaving our nest. Very understandable the way you feel - hope to hear how her first day went.

What does this say?

It says things that we don't want to talk about. ;*(

Elections are our report cards. Polls that purport to be electoral guages are offensive to me.

BINGO Wolfstar - that is exactly the way I feel about polls and you put the thought together for me. One of the many reasons our last president was such a failure.....the constant checking of the poll winds. I wish Congress would take a page out of President Bush's book on "polls".

I saw this on TV. To me the shot the stood out was the president saluting the black man at the end of the stairs.

CIA has always been my heroes but the few bad apples in their bureaucracy has left a bad taste on the subject of leaking to media.

It might just be the first-week jitters for everyone. It's hard for moms, it's hard for some of the kids, and if the teacher is young and inexperienced, the idea of being left alone with 20+ emotionally-charged semirational children might make it a difficult breaking-in time for her too.

I'm not a mom, but I would wait a couple of weeks and see how it goes before considering switching teachers. After the initial strangeness, your daughter might do really well in that teacher's class. Just a thought but maybe you could invite her over for lunch or dinner sometime soon. That way your daughter could get to know her on her own turf with mom and dad around.

My kindergarten teacher was not a very warm person at all. She would have done a fine job with older elementary school kids, but she just wasn't well-suited to kindergarten.

Most people did okay with her, though it was a bit annoying that she tried to prod me to do things right-handed. I was the size of a toddler and could barely write with the jumbo-sized pencils with my good hand for any length of time. I didn't learn to tie my shoes until second grade (I begged mom to buy me Velcro) because the day I finally got it, she untied them and said I had done it with my hands backwards and to start over. Just try doing it opposite-handed sometime. It's nearly impossible. I found out from my mom a few years ago that the reason she backed off on writing and scissors was that she had called my parents to enlist them to encourage me to do things "properly" and they told her they didn't care what hand I used as long as it was legible. (I still cut right-handed though, because another kid always got the lefty scissors first, and when I finally got my hands on it, it was too hard for me to open anyway.)

I also had a very strict first grade teacher. She'd put the fear of God in you when she raised her voice, but she was also one of the nicest people you could ever hope to meet. When my mother was pregnant, my sister kept trying to come out early, and mom had to be hospitalized and bedridden for six weeks. My teacher offered to let me and my oldest brother, who was in kindergarten at the time, stay with her. We had an awesome time, and I still hear from her from time to time.

I hope this helps.

Thanks for the links, Deb. You always find something interesting.

I don't know how to post links so that people can click on them, but I thought people might be interested in a commentary from Prof. Tribe on the Harvard Law School website.

The address is www.law.harvard.edu

Tribe is extremely liberal, but even he has to admit that Dubya's critics don't legally have a leg to stand on with respect to challenging the constitutionality of his signing statements. (And don't even get me started on the ABA; an organization of lawyers arguing that they are constitutionally suspect is a disgrace to our profession). It's refreshing that even a flaming Dem has to admit this.

Tribe gets a bit snarky about a few other things like Hamdan v. Rumsfeld, FISA, and the proper balance of power between Congress and the Executive branch, but it was refreshing to see someone in academia finally tell the libs to shut their mouths about the signing statements.

EXACTLY! I have no doubt most of the agents are hard working patriots that love our country. As you say, a few bad apples can ruin an otherwise good reputation. Here's hoping they get the vipers cleaned out of there.

I would send it to Downing Street that after all is where the PM is based and the Cabinet meet as well as being the PM's official residence.

The website is
