U.S. televangelist Pat Robertson said he joined hands Wednesday with Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert to pray for victory in Lebanon.
"I'm here to say I love Israel. I'm here to say evangelical Christians in America stand with Israel in their struggle," Robertson told reporters. "For all our sakes, they cannot lose this struggle."
The session in Olmert's office followed a tense six-hour meeting of the Israeli Security Cabinet, which decided to expand the monthlong ground offensive in Lebanon.
"I think the people of Israel understand where their friends are, and their friends are evangelical Christians," Robertson said.
Robertson said the struggle against Israel was part of a larger struggle against what he called "Islamo-fascism," and suggested that Iran was behind Hezbollah's initial attack on Israel on July 12 that triggered a massive Israeli response, trying to draw attention away from its nuclear program.
Robertson broadcast his show, The 700 Club, from the northern town of Metulla, which is surrounded on three sides by Lebanon. He said Katyusha rockets fell nearby while he was conducting an interview, and joked that his daughter thought it odd that her 76-year-old father went to a war zone to "get his kicks."
Pat's not alone.
Good. Now Pat can put worrying about global warming on the back burner, at least for a while!
He sure isn't.
Nice to know he still has moments of lucidity.
I'd be interested to know who added the "SHUTUPPAT" keyword. Is there somebody here who is praying for Israel to lose?
If only democrat leaders (many of whom are Jewish) had this sentiment
I am sure the IDF could use someone that can leg press 2000 pounds.
I'm sure there are more than a few. .....but none have the guts to post their sentiments.
Agreed!
Well, I tried...
"What do you know? Yell it from the Mountaintops Pat!"
I think I have to agree with Pat on this one.
Now I'll have to rethink my position.
LOL....well I guess that explains it. Of course, it places the phrases alphabetically, so the effect was a little different than you had intended.
Yes... it did. Dagnabit! LOL
Pat is 100% right. Praying with him.
You might watch the 700 club a bit...Pat is far from looney. He has helped the right is so many ways. At least, you get the real news without any bias along with news that's not being reported any place but the 700 Club. Their news is far better than FoxNews...no fair and balanced from CBN.
Maybe not, but I can't say the Global Warming and 9/11 comments were very bright.
Amen to that- I began watching 700 Club during Desert Storm
as the more reliable news. Still not sure of some of the other stuff seen there -but do trust their news more than
NBC/CBS/or ABC(OR Fox for that matter)
Take a look at Operation Blessing...they've done so much good throughout the world. Then you've got 'American Law and Justice' that's totally a Pat Robertson organization.
Jay Sekulow a reformed jew...has moved in so many dramatic ways for the Christian Right with the USSC and lower courts. He's now fighting the new military rules for Chaplan's praying in the Name of Jesus Christ....has gotten the AF to re-write those rules now Chaplan's in the AF can pray the proper way. And is now engaged in changing the other military services to re-write their rules for Chaplans. ACLJ helps regular Americans at no charge time and time again.
