President Bush said Thursday that a foiled plot to blow up multiple flights between Britain and the United States shows "this nation is at war with Islamic fascists."
"This country is safer than it was prior to 9-11," Bush said from the airport tarmac here where he was appearing at events focused on the economy. "We've taken a lot of measures to protect the American people but obviously we're not completely safe. ... It is a mistake to believe there is no threat to the United States of America."
The president laid the blame for the would-be attack squarely on al-Qaida-type terrorism.
"This nation is at war with Islamic fascists who will use any means to destroy those of us who love freedom, to hurt our nation," he said, his remarks carried live on television.

There's no change in Bush's "rhetoric." But of course that doesn't stop the incessant garbage on these threads.

Unfortunately, we seem to be at war with NGOs.
We really ought to smash their sponsors. Unfortunately while the sponsors include enemies like Iran,, they also include "friends" like Pakistan, Egypt, and Saudi Arabia.
I would be MUCH easier if we could actually just devastate a few countries and get it over with.

George, isn't the term "Islamist fanatic" somewhat redundant? I haven't seen too many "Islamic moderates". In all my travels in the Middle East, I have yet to meet a moderate follower of Mohammed.

You lose, Kid. Post #4.

Poor progress on the part of our troops then.

The lying socialists are countering this reality already. Should come as no surprise. Wish I had the words to describe my outrage at some citizens, but they fail me. I am also sickened by some freepers comments. Some still don't get it and are more concerned with material possessions like toothpaste than the security of the country. Go figure.

I applaud the British security services in foiling the latest terrorist plot. It looks like they achieved something others thought very difficult, penetrating a terrorist cell. But in listening to the British authorities today they still want to treat this as a law enforcement exercise, not war. What will it take to shake the European mindset that this threat from Islamic terrorists is a true war and not a legal matter.

Yes, Mohammedism is as much a religion of peace as Mafiaism is a religion of peace.
To: Lazamataz
Yes. At least to those with an ounce of sense.
Since, this ain't a Staples commercial. There isn't an "Easy" button -- although the keyboard commandos certainly think there is.

Yes, more idiocy on your part Coop, to think we're in a WOT while 3000+ people stream across our borders unaccounted for every 24 hours.
What flavor you drinkin' today?

Thanks for the links, Coop, but let me get this straight -- the first time any in the Administration stated that we are at war with Islamic fascism was Oct. 31, 2005? That's less than a year ago, and we've been at war for almost five years.

Bush may have used the term before, but this is the first time I've seen a clip of him saying it being BROADCAST on my local MSM TV station. And it's surely the first time a large segment of the population has seen and heard a clip of him saying it.

That's when I quit searching and posting. I don't know when the first reference was, and I don't particularly care. My point was to show the nonsense on this and other threads. Mission accomplished.
