'Plot to blow up planes' foiled [UK TERROR THREAT LEVEL RAISED TO IMMINENT{U.S.raised terror level)

A major terrorist plot to blow up planes in mid-flight has been disrupted by police, Scotland Yard says.

It is thought the plan was to detonate explosive devices smuggled on board aircraft in hand luggage.

During the night, police arrested a number of people in London after a counter-terrorist operation they said had lasted several months.

Police believe the attacks would have been particularly targeted at flights from the UK to the US.

The Department for Transport said security at all UK airports has been increased.

Passengers on all flights will not be allowed to take any hand luggage on to any flights in the UK.

Only the barest essentials - including passports and wallets - will be allowed to be carried on board in transparent plastic bags.

It just amazes me we NEVER hear about the anthrax attacks anymore, related to Iraq or not. I reckon a bio or chem threat would scare a lot more people. But then again - the folks in charge likely know things that would turn us white as ghosts. (Not to be alarmist of course)

My SIL travels every week..Increased precautions..some silly but necessary ,I suppose, will be impemented but in the meantime there are people working to uncover the plots and I pray we continue to deter the implementation of the plots to murder civilians who just happen to be on a plane.. Car bombs kill anyone who happens to be in the worong place when it blows..They don't care who they kill..
This will not stop as long as these crazy jihadist imams are preaching their hatred.

Think about it Mo... baby bottles... which has to mean that they suspect mothers would actually take their babies on board to blow them up along with everyone else.

Babies or teenagers - it doesn't matter to them. The only thing that matters is infidels are killed and their off spring get to Allah and 72 virgins.
