I would assume Delay's name will still be on the ballot correct? If they can elect dead congressmen in Missouri and Hawaii why not one that is resigned?

Harris County now uses paperless electronic systems.
I suppose someone can use that dial input device to enter all the letters in a candidate's name but do you suppose ANY voter will ever win by this method?
What happens to the votes in this race if someone punches straight ticket Republican?

Delay is a pussy. He should run and win to prove he still has his mojo. I guess all that lobbying money waiting for him is more important than keeping congress in republican hands. Another conservative sell out.

I know the DeLays and you are so far off base it isn't even funny. I hope you are just venting steam. If DeLay doesn't run then it is for a very damn good reason!
He gave up his office in order for the Republican Party not to get dragged down into his indictment.

What the GOP really needs to do is push absentee ballots and get those write-in votes in and done correctly.
To: MAD-AS-HELL
I just don't understand Texas GOP wanting Tom off the ballot so badly.
Do they know something we don't know?
What poetic justice to force Tom back on the ballot and he wins!

Dem Dirty tricks dont get much dirtier than this. First they get a Dirty lawyer to charge Delay with BS charges then they delay the the trial then they force him out of the Congress then they file suit to not allow anyone else to run.
I hope at some time in this fiasco Ronnie Earle finds himself peeking out thru the bars of the Greystone hotel.

You just do not get it do you. Tom Delay does not want to be in Congress anymore. I thought that he had made that patently obvious. He has moved to Virginia to either become a lobbyist or a political consultant. After he lost his leadership position, he lost his love for his seat.
Oh I get it just fine.
And I say that if the voters in DeLay's district overwhelmingly wrote in his name, essentially drafting him back into his Congressional seat, that DeLay is enough of a patriot to honor the wishes of his constituents. DeLay will answer the call, if the call is made. If not, he better quickly make one of those "if nominated I will not run, if elected I will not serve" statements and absolutely slam the door.
But I don't think he'll do that. He's watching. He's paying attention.
I hope he lurks here on FR.

I would assume Delay's name will still be on the ballot correct? Withdrawing takes the name of completely. The Republican line for that race will be blank.

And I say that if the voters in DeLay's district overwhelmingly wrote in his name Those write-in votes would be illegal under Texas Election Code chapter 146.
To: SolidSupplySide
That District now needs a Plan or it is lost to confusion.

A plan? We better get John Kerry there on the double! :p
To: SolidSupplySide
The write in Candidates name?
Hint: Tom DeLay

Well your back at it with your propaganda. Once again you have one agenda the defeat of Tom DeLay or any other legitimate conservative. I do hope you folks over at Nick Lampsons office can get in a few more licks before your real cover is blown. I guess your can start the name calling again. By the way Gumboyaya in creole "means everyone talking at once". See you around Nick.
