Well the Lebanese did such a terrific job of keeping Hezbollah out of Southern Lebanon before. /s

Well if they wanted to fight Israel they would send them now, looks like they are waiting for a withdraw which means - they dont wanna fight.

That's mighty nice of the fox to guard the henhouse. I'm a little skeptical of the Lebonese army guarding anything more important than a roll of toilet paper.

Is the Lebanese Army powerless against the Hezzies?

Doubt they'd have a clue what they were guarding either.

The latest poll showed 80% of Lebanese people supporting Hezbollah. Is the Lebanese army composed of Lebanese people?

Lebanese Cabinet agrees to send troops to southern Lebanon if Israel withdraws and if it gets help from an international force.

Gee, the logistics will be very easy! They'll just ship Lebanese army uniforms to South Lebanon, have the Hezzies take a bath, and... put on the uniforms! Simple isn't it???

Hizbollah is currently being resupplied by Syria. How about if Israel stays for awhile, and Lebanon demonstrates their capabilities by closing their border with Syria.

Then they can clear out South Beirut.

Off to Tyre, then they'll be ready to be trusted in the south.

I think one of the jobs of this international force may be to shape up the Lebanese army. If they are like the Afghans, they don't even know ready, aim, fire.

IMO, this is simply Lebanon saying it will contribute to the international force should there be one. This only slightly means something if Israel agrees to the UN proposal, which from what I understand is not happening right now. No way in hell Israel is going to leave the Hezzies to the Lebanese Army.

You obviously have never tried to get toilet paper in the middle east ... they sell it by the sheet at the door of the toilet. I dont think the Lebonese Army is up to that level of guard duty.

Could be that Hezbollah needs reinforcements There have been too many incidents of Lebanese army units assisting Hezbollah for there to be any reliance on the Lebanese Army to stop the attacks.
