OK, now things are getting weird.
This Reuters photograph shows blatant evidence of manipulation. Notice the repeating patterns in the smoke; this is almost certainly caused by using the Photoshop clone tool to add more smoke to the image. (Hat tip: Mike.)
Its so incredibly obvious, it reminds me of the faked CBS memos. Smoke simply does not contain repeating symmetrical patterns like this, and you can see the repetition in both plumes of smoke. Theres really no question about it.
Smoke billows from burning buildings destroyed during an overnight Israeli air raid on Beiruts suburbs August 5, 2006. Many buildings were flattened during the attack. REUTERS/Adnan Hajj

The focus on the helmet guy is very different from the background; maybe he was using a telephoto lens and focused on the guy, and let the background be blurry. It does look odd, though, from this amateur's perspective.

I actually called my Wife in to take a look at the pic from the Reuters website. My daughter had the same reaction.

This age of digital imaging is going to make it damned near impossible to put any trust in the newz media, or anyone, for that matter. Reputable newz services should demand non-digital imaging for their reporting. This type of situation is exactly why companies like Canon have introduced products like the "Data Verification Kit" for their digital SLR cameras. I don't know how far it goes towards preventing manipulation, but it does lend authenticity to the original image.
Here's a brief description of the kit's function:

IMHO, I think the story is quickly becoming that yahoo still has the foto up. They've no doubt had a volley of truth thrown at them.... and, yet, here it is 7a.m. EST and they still are defiantly showing the reuters lie.
Reuters is no friend, we've known that for a while. And, 2, we've known for a while that yahoo's got china's buck to suck, so we know they aren't exactly pure as can be.... but somewhere, sonehow, overnite you'd a thunk somebody at yahoo would have pulled the plug on further displaying the foto.
Yahoo continues to spread lies as of 7:10a.m. EST

Wow this struck a nerve at reuters.
"A Reuters employee has been suspended after sending a death threat to an American blogger. "
" The message, sent from a Reuters internet account, read: "I look forward to the day when you pigs get your throats cut."

I got a question. You folks are the go to guys here.
I have only seen the photos by that one guy of the baby with the pacifier. Is the pacifier photo-shopped.

Just a question: Why does anyone here even trust the MSM anymore, after their coverage of Hurricane Katrina that would've made William Randolph Hearst proud. I never trusted them much before, but after having been in Iraq the better part of three years and seeing the reality vs. the media reporting, I see just how blatantly they twist, distort and outright lie.
The media long ago gave up trying to conceal its agenda.
