I'm doing okay .. the reality hits as I plan my mom's memorial. We were picking out a cake today for the reception following the service and my neighbor and I were blubbering all over the place.

Oh well .. maybe if I let it all out now I'll be in better shape on the day of the service.

Nah, you won't, but you won't be alone, either. Others will be blubbering along with you, and hopefully, laughing through the tears with good memories, too.

God Bless you tears are a good release and grief affects us all different. With me I seemed to had shed my tears before she died and all I really experienced was relief.

Sadness yes but somehow in that a conviction that this was better than the suffering she had experienced especially in the last 3 months of her life.

The bottom line is do not behave one way or the other because you think that is expected. If need to cry, cry if you do not need cry do not. Especially on the day of the funeral those that know you best will appreciate that whether you appear upset or not that you loved your mother deeply and that you are behaving how you feel is right for you at that moment.

Although it's not my place to advise you, I'd say let yourself grieve. Your mom deserves to have someone grieve at her passing -- at least that's how I look at such things. (Am always here if you need someone to talk to.)
