When Tim LaHaye talks, the faithful listenby the millions. The conservative Protestant minister is the coauthor of the wildly popular apocalyptic Left Behind novels. The controversial books, which have sold more than 60 million copies, depict the biblical end of the world: the Christian eschatology of the upheaval that precedes the second coming of Jesus Christ, known also as end times. LaHaye recently spoke with NEWSWEEKs Brian Braiker about why he believes the events currently unfolding in the Middle East reflect biblical prophesy.

And WWII wasn't a 'holy war.' Nazism may have been an ideology, but islam is a religion. People are going out to kill in the name of god, not in the name of the furher. The movie Obsession explains this quite well as to why the rise of islam is much more dangerous than Hitler ever was. We are only in the opening acts.

I love the term "Completed Jew"
When the day comes those who have not been dutifully obeying Christ will be like someone surprised by a thief while those who have been dutifully obeying Christ will not be shocked or surprised.
They knew the day was coming sooner or later, so they live every day as if it were the day.
Which is the whole point of this parable:
"Therefore be ye also ready: for in such an hour as ye think not the Son of man cometh.
Who then is a faithful and wise servant, whom his lord hath made ruler over his household, to give them meat in due season?
Blessed is that servant, whom his lord when he cometh shall find so doing.
Verily I say unto you, That he shall make him ruler over all his goods.
But and if that evil servant shall say in his heart, My lord delayeth his coming;
And shall begin to smite his fellowservants, and to eat and drink with the drunken;
The lord of that servant shall come in a day when he looketh not for him, and in an hour that he is not aware of,
And shall cut him asunder, and appoint him his portion with the hypocrites: there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth."
Neither servant knew the hour when the master would return, but the good servant is not caught napping or unawares, while the evil servant is caught napping.
The difference is not that the good servant is more skilled at prognostication - the difference is that the good servant is doing what his master expects of him and the evil servant is not.
I'm prayed up, packed up and ready to go!
The French are trying to recruit him as a peace negotiator in the ME for the UN as we discuss this.
Here's a dispensation...What dispensation do you suppose Paul is talking about???
Eph 1:10 That in the dispensation of the fullness of times he might gather together in one all things in Christ, both which are in heaven, and which are on earth; even in him:
And here's another dispensation...Any ideas on that???
Eph 3:2 If ye have heard of the dispensation of the grace of God which is given me to you-ward:
Dispensation of the grace of God...What's that??? Could it be that James and Ephesians are in different dispensations???
Col 1:25 Whereof I am made a minister, according to the dispensation of God which is given to me for you, to fulfill the word of God;
The Apostle to the Gentiles was pretty big on dispensational truth...Why wouldn't you be???
He's pretty basic Baptist last I checked.
They've been around a while.
That's immaterial. They are alike in two respects: that they have FReepers who defend them and they have made embarrassingly wrong predictions.
And it was precisely in those two respects that I compared them.
Furthermore, when you blast the Schofileld Bible because of Hal Lindsay, it is similar to smearing conservatives because of David Duke.
Hal Lindsey isn't a racist - I don't see what the point of this comparison is.
Scofield was a crackpot and Lindsey is a crackpot. Scofield was a huckster and Lindsey is a huckster.
Expecting logic on these threads may not be a sign of good reality testing.
Oh, I'll have to remember that!
susie
Amen.
Mrs. L,TOWM and I both discuss our world weariness often. We try to be careful to do what works we see that needs to be done -- He obviously want us to be doing something, our we would be taken away.
Even so, Come Lord Jesus...
Bastards stole my idea!
You're thinking of L. Ron Hubbard, founder of Scientology.
He's dead now.
LOL
you're confused.
The Greek word oikonomia, which the KJV translates as "dispensation" can mean several things, but generally it means an ordering of things and specifically a task of ordering things assigned to someone.
Thus in the examples from 1Cor9, Eph3 and Col, Paul is discussing a "dispensation" or task given to him personally - i.e. God has tasked him with spreading the Gospel.
The example from Eph1 describes God's ordering of the world.
In none of these examples is it even suggested that God has created two or seven or any number of separate orderings of the world ("dispensations") to different ethnic peoples.
I'm reminded of the DUmmie FUnnies thread William Rivers Pitt Vomits Up Apocalyptic Visions.
