Thank you, McGavin.
That's useful information to filter into the macro labels we've been using.
I need a Westerner's Guide to Jihad, with lots of charts and photos. ;-)

Our enemy in Germany was the guy running it, too, and not the population. The opinions of the population of a country have never mattered much in any war. Not to their "leaders," certainly, and unfortunately, they cannot matter to anybody who wants to conquer their leaders.
One of the most interesting things that happened shortly after we went into Iraq is that Nasrallah decided to send some of his Hizbullies to Iraq to help "fight". Sistani and the Iraqi Hawza (I think that's how it is spelled) sent off a very strongly worded message to Nasrallah and it shocked everyone. First of all because it was sent, secondly because it was strongly worded (in the Shiia religion the various clerics speak to each other in a very round about manner) and thrid because Nasrallah backed off immediately. That meant that there were many, many Sistani followers in Lebanon.
How did you get that thread to show up in English?
Intriguing...

I think therein lies the real and very knotty problem. As long as that rabid, evil hatred is instilled in every generation from the beginning of their lives, taught both at home and in the schools and mosques, how are we to combat it? I don't know the answer.
No,I did that,I mean all the other threads on that board are all arabic, I'd like to read those.

From Stratfor:
Intelligence received by Stratfor in the past 24 hours indicates that Israel believes military operations against Hezbollah will soon be reaching a climax in Lebanon, and activity by both sides in the conflict since then has been intensifying. It has been our assessment that as Hezbollah fighters come under greater duress, there is a strong possibility that the organization will revert to employing terrorist tactics against Westerners that it used in the past - such as kidnappings, bombings or other acts of violence.
We have also taken note of a warden message issued yesterday, August 1st, that imposes a curfew on U.S. Embassy staff in Damascus - a precaution for their safety as emotions run high in Syria. We view this as further affirmation that, with military operations entering a crucial phase, the danger of terrorist activity is now ticking upward. We have no direct intelligence on this but we are clearly entering a period of heightened threat.

How sad and gut-wrenching, yet such a tribute to honor.

Unless the RINOs are put into a back room and locked away, these predictions will , unfortunately, not come to pass.
