U.N. PWNED
Just catching up with the thread..saw the great reporting by Jennifer Griffin and am watching the interviews on BOR.
I did have an interesting chat with some (Iraq) combat vets this evening. They shake their heads while trying to explain the mindset of the ME to me. Their consensus is that short of massive de-programming (said in jest)- the west is in for a hell of a fight.
The media would do considerably better reporting if they followed so me of these threads.
I was wondering if they were checking to see whether the supporters of Israel were getting ready to turn on them because of Qana. I think, I hope, they discovered that the opposite was true.
Witnesses: Israeli planes strike Hizbullah areas deep inside Lebanon
Israeli warplanes struck Hermel deep inside Lebanon early Tuesday, 120 kilometers (73 miles) north of the Israeli border in the Bekaa Valley in eastern Lebanon, a known Hizbullah stronghold, witnesses reported.
Warplanes fired at least five air-to-surface missiles on the town, the witnesses said. It was not clear what was hit and whether there were any casualties. Another strike targeted an area near the Syrian border, about 10 kilometers (6 miles) north of Hermel. (AP)

Still I have my opinion about the pics -- agit-prop staging -- look at the open mouths of the "rescuers". "Presenters" or "professional keeners" would be the better term. The real scenes of havoc and calamity I've seen in person and watched on TV -- the rescuers are purposeful, quiet, strong, close-mouthed.
And look at the holding up and holding out of the bodies as if offered in sacrifice and lamentations. Oh what a trump of false lamentations! Look at the Beslan or OKC photos -- there the bodies are hugged, held tight, protected. Even in death. Modestly protected from the public view -- even in the immediate danger of Beslan.
I have a comment about rigor mortis, though. personal experience suggests to me that bodies can get stiff quick. May not be "rigor mortis", but stiff. Twenty minutes in heat.
Ooooh, lots of flags! And old cars. We must have old cars to turn over and burn!
See, already thinking ahead, aren't you! We could sew some green and yellow Hezbollah flags and make an effigy of Nastyrullah, or maybe even Kofi Kan, and burn them all. Let's turn over some diplomat limos too!

Thats why we have to peek into the military blogs once in a while to get the real perspective.
I wonder if they went after a staging area of Hebollah
maybe we should start making the big Nasrallah banner now...(wink)
Now that's funny!
But rigor goes away later - I just don't know when or how long.
WOW..Well..it looks as though the gloves are coming off so to speak.
It's been tense is these areas all day.
I know, disgusting isn't it??
The Arab guy would never say it...or admit it...but the children in the Palestinian and other Arab countries are taught from the moment they can see a TV..that Jews are pigs and monkeys.
THAT is what the monkey stood for...and that guy was such a coward he wouldn't even mention it.
BOR should have had his staff get the videos that I have seen many times showing the little girl being asked what Jews are...and her answering "pigs and monkeys".
For those without CABLE.
BOR showed a cartoon that was running in Arab newspapers---it had a picture of Condi Rice...pregnant with a monkey in her womb.
The caption said something about how it is time "of new birth in the Middle East"...or somesuch.
BOR..kept trying to get the Arab guy to explain what the monkey meant...and the only thing he said was something about "have you ever hear the phrase monkey in the wrench?"
Good point- though in this case I was able to peek at them in my living room!
