Several people shot at Jewish Federation in Seattle (One dead)

Update:

SEATTLE – At least two people have been shot at the Jewish Federation at 2031 Third Ave. in downtown Seattle. One or two people have been taken into custody but it's not known if they are suspects.

One person was reportedly shot in the abdomen and another in the arm. They are being taken to Harborview Medical Center.

Part of Third Avenue and Second Avenue have been closed to traffic. Police are urging people to stay away from the area. It's not known if more suspects are at large but policemen were seen handcuffing one person and others were searching the area.

At least three people were seen emerging from the building, escorted by police. It's not know if they were hostages.

Medics, escorted by police, have been taking other people from the building.

There is an old story about a bird: The bird is migrating south, yet tarried a bit too long in the northern feeding grounds. Once the large flocks had flown south, the bird waited three more days. Whilst the hapless bird was on the ground, a large cow happened to defaecate upon him. The stormclouds cleared. The warmth thawed the ice and snow. The bird was so exultant with his situation that he began to sing with joy. A nearby cat promptly dug him out of the dung, and ate the bird.

The moral of this little fable is that those that crap upon you are not necessarily your enemy, and those that get you out of the crap are not necessarily your friend.

The manner in which it compares to one person harming another should be patently obvious.

Now when has there ever been a Jewish sniper here in the U.S.? I cannot think of when I've heard of a Jewish person even committing a crime of hate. Someone must keep that info under wraps. If the Mossad wants to send someone over to take care of business do you think WE are going to hear of it?

They know better. They sent out warnings to local Jewish groups just a few days ago, according to the radio.

They were telling us on the radio to be cautious and alert for a second attack this evening, while I waz driving home this evening.

Some temples cancelled their services here for this evening.

Last news that I can confirm: one dead (gender unknown), five women wounded, three of those in critical condition, two (one of which was about 20 weeks pregnant) are in satisfactory (including the baby). One in custody, a 31-year-old Pakistani national from the Tri-Cities area of E Washington.

The news cycle is now pretty much off of the story. After all, they opened a new antique shop on the Oregon coast...
