Excerpt -
KUALA LUMPUR : US top diplomat Condoleezza Rice won rave reviews Thursday for her musical performance at Asian security talks, despite skipping the traditional rowdy skits in favour of a sombre piano recital. With North Korea firing off missiles, carnage in Lebanon, rockets raining on Israel and killings convulsing Iraq, Rice was in no mood for the kind of frivolity staged in previous years.
In keeping with her "serious" mood the Secretary of State performed two pieces from the brooding repertoire of Johannes Brahms -- a solo Intermezzo number two, and Brahms Sonata for violin and piano, opus 108, with a Malaysian guest soloist.
She arrived at the Istana hotel in downtown Kuala Lumpur for the annual gala dinner wearing a glamorous red dress and red jacket made of traditional Malaysian batik material.
The dress was designed by Faisol Abdullah, a friend of the Malaysian Prime Minister Abdullah Ahmad Badawi, and was custom-made for Rice.
Regional ministers swooned over the performance as they left the dinner.
"Oh, beautiful, beautiful. She's a great pianist. She's a concert pianist," said Philippines Foreign Secretary Alberto Romulo, who insisted that despite the geopolitical realities a good time was had by all.

She's a great pianist. She could also be President.
Although not likely, it would certainly send the fur flying. Both inept parties would have to re-calibrate and this is not a bad thing.

Other acts ranged from the bizarre to the hilarious. The Australians usually bring the house down but were curiously absent this year, leaving it to the Russians to deliver a self-deprecating skit that drew gales of laughter. The Japanese meanwhile put on a sci-fi act that styled Foreign Minister Taro Aso as a Bogart-style time-traveller who saves the world from disaster and heralds a new era of regional cooperation. Sounds like Rice is raising the level of decorum at these meetings somewhat.

How do you define one of the most powerful black women in modern history? Well, if youre Ted Rall, it can be done in two words: "house nigga" For those who cant stomach looking at another Rall cartoon, the comic suggests "appropriate punishments for deposed Bushists" that parodies alleged treatment of Iraqi detainees at the Abu Ghraib prison. The panel devoted to Rice has the caption, "sent to inner-city racial re-education camp" and has Dr. Rice saying, "I was Bush's Beard! His house nigga! His...." Another figure in the panel wears a T-shirt with the inscription "You're not White, Stupid" and demands of Rice, "Now hand over your hair straightener."

Ted Rall thinks she's Bush's 'house nigga'. Ted Rall is an imbecile, and can kiss my @$$. I may not agree with 100% of what Condi's done, but she's overall demonstrated tremendous capability and raised the bar for others.

Wow. These aren't exactly the two easiest pieces to play well. She is one talented lady.

Who the hell is this Ted Rall???
I know who Condi Rice is, and I know that she's smart, talented and capable (and kind'a hot), But this Ted Rall sounds like a grade AAA butt-hole. Am I supposed to know who he is?
