Chorizo is the new Racing Sausage
|
Chorizo, a tasty Mexican sausage, will join fellow meaty friends Hot Dog, Bratwurst, Polish and Italian as the newest member of the Klement's Famous Racing Sausages team at Miller Park.
Chorizo, who will be adorned with a sombrero and decked out in red, green and white, will be formally introduced on Thursday at a press conference at Miller Park.
Latino community leaders had lobbied the Brewers and Klement's to add a Mexican mascot. The unveiling is in conjunction with Cerveceros Day, set for Saturday night at Miller Park.
The addition of a 5th Klement's Racing Sausage should provide Klement's and the Brewers with new marketing and promotional opportunities, especially in the growing Latino community. |

Gotta like the selective political correctness these days. The have the guy in a Sombrero.... Does he miss the race because he's napping? If they put an American Indian character out there in a head dress there would be a lefty riot.

Racing sausage all right.
If you eat one you'll be racing for the toilet.

Oh it's tasty alright - but who knows what the heck is in the stuff. It's barely above head cheese in my book.

Finely ground chorizo mixed with scrambled eggs and topped with salsa is very tasty. If you're not sensitive to wheat, it is great to wrap it up in a nice warm flour tortilla as a chorizo burrito.

LULAC and La Raza will protest. They got rid of the Frito Bandito, they'll the same with this.

Racing sausage all right. If you eat one you'll be racing for the toilet. That's correct too. Most chorizo tends to be spicy and VERY greasy. A chorizo burrito is evident by the orange grease soaking the tortilla and dripping all over the place.
Frankly, I prefer a nice machaca burrito. Shredded beef, egg, veggies and some oil. Great flavor and less greasy.
A carne asada burrito with guacamole is very tasty too.

I was about to post exactly what you wrote.
Many would never eat Chorizo if they knew what was in it.

Chorizo is spanish/portugese in origin, not mexican and the best chorizos come from spain and/or portugal.

Queso fundido w/ chorizo, chihuahua cheese and poblano strips, rolled up in some tortillas...muy bueno!!
To: Pukin Dog
Ditto. I saw some of this stuff in the grocery store and read the ingredients. Couldn't put it down fast enough.

I enjoyed chorizo until I made the mistake of reading the lablel. When I got to the indredients and noticed lymph glands I backed away slowly after putting said sausage in its proper place. Now, I know the old saying "parts is parts" but, it just didn't strike me as being appetizing anymore.

LOL. Looking at the ingredients of any store bought sausage, hot dog, scrapple, or the like is likely to make you more ill than eating said sausage.
