Kerry vs. Rush (Kerry blasts Limbaugh in typical Lurch style)

Senator John Kerry quickly issued a statement Friday blasting Rush Limbaugh for asserting during his Friday broadcats that "liberals have hated Israel for the longest time and want to destroy it." Here it is:

"Rush Limbaugh’s ignorance and willingness to divide Americans knows no bounds. His latest statement about Israel is beyond offensive to all of us who have fought to protect Israel in the face of enemies committed to its destruction.

"Rush Limbaugh needs to pick up a history book instead of a donut. It was a Democratic president who first recognized the State of Israel. It was a Democratic President who first sold Israel defensive weapons. And it was a Democratic President who first sold Israel offensive weapons.

"The people of Israel and the Jewish community don’t need Rush Limbaugh to tell them who stands with them, and no one has time for right wing trying to score cheap political points while Israel fights to defend its very existence."

Peas in a pod... Bill O'Reilly had this to say about liberal Jews and Israel. It sounded familiar -- and then it hit me: Rush!

Notice that all of Kerry's references to Democrat support for Israel are WAAAYn the past. While there are some Dems that whose support of Israel is unwavering, perhaps Kerry should be renewing his own credentials rather than blasting Rush.

But then again, if Kerry were president, he wouldn't need to support Israel, because, as he said today, "If I was president, [the Israel-Lebanon conflict] wouldn't have happened." Yes, he really said that. What a presumptuous *ss.

Do you know how I found this gem?

I tried to post the article on the Drudge Report from 'The Detroit News' where Kerry says this middle east conflict would not happen if he was President, but 'The Detroit News' will not allow itself to be posted here at Free Republic.

So I did a search in Yahoo! News for all articles with 'Kerry' so I can find a link to this story outside of 'The Detroit News', and I landed on this gem fifth down.
