Enemies of Free Republic sign up to post obscene and vile threads. I've seen a number of them lately, usually on the theme of child-rape. It seems there is a concerted effort to drive Freepers away from the site in disgust. The Mods are quick, still I wonder if it's wise to allow people to sign up and immediately post? I'm a Dollar-a-Day donor to FR and I want this wonderful place to flourish as family-friendly site. I wonder what other Freepers think?
Hells bells, there aren't enough trolls around now, as it is.
There was when I signed up.
No need for probation. We discuss the world, you can't do that from a bubble. You can though remove trouble makers and the moderators do a good job of that.
Welcome to FR.
Nope, Liberal Judges......
i like the idea of there being a $20 fee which could be refunded (or donated to FR)if after 12 months a poster doesn't do anything obscene, illegal, or pro-hillary.
G-d bless you and keep you safe
LOL! I love the smell of Zotted Trolls in the morning... It smells like, like victory... : )
May the Lord keep you safe.
Zotting trolls is as close as I intend to get to combat. You have my respect.
I don't object to people posting. there are some real sociopaths offering comments, however. It is better than it was a couple of months ago.
Well, I don't know about that, but I'd like to see a ban on vanity posts from Freepers who've been here less than a year. How's that sound?
Praying you get the job done, are victorious and return safely. God speed.
I think the child-rape threads are mainly liberals with NAMBLA membership and/or sympathizers. That might cover about 50% of the dummies, maximum.
Certain measures were taken a while ago to minimize these occurrences.
No silly. They're about evolution and the fair tax.
They sure do, sometimes for years, waiting to pounce.
Yeah, I remember when I first signed up back in 2001 there was a rash of neo-Nazi "National Vanguard" folks who sent FReepmails to several mailboxes. Their posting history showed no activity but they had been signed up for quite a while.
I suppose there's an argument that can be made in favor of your position. However,I think the moderators should be able to completely eliminate any thread that's particularly odious.
As far as as I can recall, there has never been any restriction in place that would keep someone from signing up and starting a thread that same day.
Nope - any forum has its bad apples. Many lurk on here and sign up to post when they feel they have something important to say or add to a thread. I lurked for two years before I signed up...I *finally* had something to say :)
The trolls will be smoked out whether they sign up today or a year ago. Plus, they provide great entertainment value to FReeRepublic!
