Curious Creatures
My sister, Blaze and I were playing deep inside the Woods' trees
Leaping and chasing through tall damp grass above our knees
When we tumbled into a small and Sunlit clearing
And spied a most odd and curious looking thing
We stepped crouched and cautiously to give it a wide berth
Patiently watching as it oozed and slid slowly over the damp and soft earth
"Why does it move so awfully slow?" I asked, leaning close. "I don't see any legs or feet, so how does it go?"
Blaze watched and gave a most feline and feminine shrug
As she crouched low and studied the over~sized bug
"There aren't any eyes, so how can it see?" Blaze added with tact
"And why does it want to move with a big hard shell upon its back?"
"It doesn't have a nose, eyes, ears or fur. It doesn't bark or squeak or sing or purr"
As we left to find Mother and tell her our mysterious and intriguing tale
Only to be surprised as Mother smiled and said that we'd just seen a snail!

Very cute....
Had the $#$** scared out of me this week.
Was sitting at the table and heard some strange pings against the house.
Called Tazman to do his manly duty and he went out sufficiently armed.
Nothing.
Heard it again but it sounded like something small and scratchy running along the gutter.
Tazman had to go look again.
3rd time I heard it, I turned all the lights out and cast a side long glance out the blinds half expecting to see red alien eyes peering in at me.
Didn't know if it was rat, bat, cat or something else.
Little later, I let Solly out.. She nailed the problem. Cicada's thumping the house under my porch light.
