Greetings all and one, it's time for the Friday Flyby. Going along with Engilsh planes of WW-II tonight's Flyby will be the famed Avro Lancaster.

Developed from the twin engine Avro Manchester the Lancaster with it's four Rolls-Royce Merlin engines had a top speed of almost 300mph and a payload around 18,000lbs. Flown by 617 Squadron, perhaps better know as "The Dam Busters" the Lancaster played the key role in the breaching of the Ruhr Dams as well as delivering the coup-de-grace to the battleship Tirpitz.

7366 Lancasters were built for the RAF and allies but only two remain flyable today. So on with the pics.

First up a head on pic from the 1940s.

A really nice nose close up of the Royal Air Force's Battle of Britian Memorial Flight Lanc.

Port side inflite view of the Lancaster "Still Going Strong"

And the starboard side view of "Still Going Strong"

The Lancaster of the Canadian Warplane Heritage Musuem in flight with a Canadian CVF-18 Hornet.

Well that takes care tonights flyby. I close out with a wonderfull pic of the Lanc above the cloud deck. I kinda hated to reduce this pic.

Y'all have a great weekend and keep the folks in St. Louis in your thoughts as they have had a rough week. Right now there are over 550,000 cutomers without power.

Regards
