It seems as if every day, another ditz from Hollywood jumps on Al Gore's bandwagon and spouts how much energy America wastes, how we are destroying the planet, how cars are pumping millions of pounds of pollution into the atmoshphere, etc.
So let me ask you this. How much energy goes into making a movie? From flying all across the globe scouting shooting locations, all the gasoline the movie trucks use transporting cameras, building the sets, the energy powering all the computers generating CGI's, an endless supply of explosions that pump pollution into the air. How about all the cars they destroy to get their shot? They have to be built from ingredients mined from the earth, right? How about flying the stars around to different cities to promote the film? Does this not add to "global warming"? All the trees cut down to make movie posters, DVD inserts, marketing advertisements, etc. How about all the plastic used in packaging? Does this not create a mountain of trash that is filling our landfills?
But that's just the tip of the iceberg. How many gallons of fuel are burned when people drive to the theater to see these movies? Every time I go see a movie, the theater is well chilled. How much energy is used to chill these theaters down? Think about how many theaters there are worldwide, and how much of a toll on the environment all these AC units are making? All the ice that goes into the drinks at theaters use energy. All the electricity it take to pop all that popcorn. All the electricity it takes to actually show a film.
This list can go on and on as too how much oil it takes to operate the film industry. And, how much it pollutes from everyday operations. For that matter, how much damage was done to the environent, and how much "global warming" occured to make "An Inconvienent Truth"? That is the question that needs to be asked to Hollywood. But of course, they are the do as I say, not as I do club. An inconvienient truth, perhaps?
How much carbon is emitted by all the private jets flown by celebrities?
They are dumb bastard hypocrites, those of us that are sane know this.
Very nice. I never thought of this angle before. You've captured a lot of the direct and indirect costs. But you should also include the "externalities" that the libs love to rant about. In this case, it would be the severe case of brain rot and degradation of society that ensues when you consume most of Hollywood's products.
John Travolta might be a liberal but he's an aviation nut so he can't be all bad.
Have any of ya'll investigated and bought that "Vortex Valve" thingy they're advertising over on worldnetdaily.com?
He usually doesn't say much about his politics publicly. I just mentioned him, because he flies a rather inefficient large jet.
Does anyone have the link to the Al Gore fuel consumption video? While he was promoting his bundle of lies An Inconvenient Truth, I believe he consumed something like 65,000 gal of fuel in a day.
Well done.
I never thought of this either. Rush ought to read this.
I'm much more concerned about the melting of the human mind from all the global corruption Hollywood pumps out.
It is a rather large inefficient jet, isn't it? The 707 (military version) used to carry the airborne laser. Why would anyone want a big outdated plane like that?
I read somewhere that the trip costs of the 707-320 series and 747-100 were almost the same. Is that true?
How many tons of Blood for Oil does it cost to fly algore around the world to promote this dirge?
Pray for W and Our Freedom Fighters
Shalom Israel
Here's another inconvenient truth for Hollywood.
They say they are for supporting the troops but against the war.
So, how many of them have gone over to entertain the troops? Other than Wayne Newton and some CW singers?
I have no idea. You are the expert on all this stuff. Is the -100 still around? ABL is now on the -400 if that is what you mean.
