Pathetic that this is his 1st veto.

Spent money like he hates the stuff.

3000 dying a month in Iraq

Brink of WW3

No progress on borders or entitlements..tax reform ..tort reform..drilling ..etc...and he's worried about a some cells.

That's a very conservative attitude. [sarcasm]

Funding is provided btw. It just isn't as great as YOU might wish because it's been a FAILURE as of yet. capitalists tend to invest in success. Only failures need government subsidies because they cannot make it on their own.

I'm not always happy with what Bush does, but I'm ecstatic that he vetoed this. It is outrageous that we would start funding the harvesting of humans.

Religion over science.

Morality over all.

Government paid destruction of embryos is a straw man for the abortion movement, which itself is a Destroy America's values movement.

I believe the more proper wording is:

Proper fiscal constraint preferred over the death cult pushing for additional funding in an area of science that has yet to show a single cure even after BILLIONS have been spent on research.

You no like Roberts or Alito? WOT? Tax cuts?

Upholding the sanctity of human life surpasses them all in importance.

He should have vetoed at least a dozen others.

Why didn't we get private companies to take us into space?

Because government saw a great opportunity to raise lots of bucks for their districts/constituents/lobbiest and in return be voted into office repeatedly so they shut out the private sector?

I thought you libertarians were opposed to federal funding.

Why would you mock the President when he opposes the federal funding of the ending of human life?

Why would you mock the President for standing firmly for what he believes is morally right?

I'm interested in a cogent explanation from the scoffers here.

Bush is going to have to do a good job of explaining why he finally chose to exercise the veto hero, because the media and the Dems will spin this one big time, with people in wheelchairs and the whole nine yards.

Yep. Regardless of where one stands on this issue, an honest person must admit that this veto took political courage.

But of course the media will make like he's murdering innocent Parkinsons sufferers.

I'm delighted he is excluding my tax money for this one. I just wish he would do the same with Planned Parenthood.

No federal funding of something industry isn't really interested in funding by itself.

Respect for life.

Maintaining a campaign promise.

Sticking it to the RINO senators

=====

Seems like a good time to find the veto pen.

Don't these companies do research for a cancer drug and Alzheimer's, and AIDS plus many other conditions that they know they won't see a return on for up to 40 years and more. Also, could you please point me to the data you have showing that 70 % of the American people want embryonic stem cell research.

Vetoing those bills would have been useless.

Nonsense. It would demonstrate that he has this:

instead of this:

BUNK! No 'science' supports the ending of a human life for the purpose of 'research.'

Bush finally did something RIGHT in my opinion. If, he would only find some moral principles to stand on in stopping the Mexican invasion...
