To All The Divas Of The Canteen
Rocky's Nap
I've been up and about since before the Sun arose
Moving about the House on silent, furry fingers and toes
Making sure that all is well and safely in its place
Moving around from room to room without a trace
Scanning all I see with efficiency and fluid grace
I've made sure that My Humans pass inspection and are off to work
A daily Morning function that is too humorous to shirk
Watching them dress and feed the Little Ones and prepare them for Day Care
Is a ritual, sometimes clumsy; that I cannot tear
Myself away from, just to see how well they fare
I've checked each room throughout the House
Making even less noise than my favorite Toy Mouse
Through the Big Back Window, I've seen the Birds in the Trees
Building their nest sprouting from branches that waver in the breeze
Now comes the part of the day that I like best
When I can slowly close my eyes and rest!
