Decision Time: Will this war go nuclear?
www.frontpagemag.com ^ | 7/14/2006 | David Horowitz

Posted on 07/14/2006 3:23:40 PM PDT by elizabethr

Here is the situation: World leaders are lining up, either on the side of the Islamic terrorists (Chirac and Putin) or the side of their victims (the United States and -- somewhat -- Great Britain). The Vatican, which has an unsavory record in regard to the periodic slaughters of the Jews has thrown its moral weight (such as it is these days) onto the scales against the Jews. As the Hizbollah terrorists fire hundreds of rockets into Israeli cities from Lebanon and the Pope condemns Israel's attempts to destroy the rockets aimed at its citizens, Israel's chief of staff is forced to concede that those rockets can reach farther than previously thought, putting more Israelis in danger. Meanwhile, the Syrian terrorist state tells Time magazine that it could destroy Israel's nuclear sites. Hizbollah, Hamas, Iran and Syria occupy areas that are one hundred times the size of Israel and the populations they control are ten times the size of Israel's. Hizbollah and Hamas, and their patron Iran, have sworn to remove Israel from the face of the earth -- in those very words. Iran has defied the world community in asserting its determination to complete its nuclear program. Syria supports Iran, hosts Hamas and is a party to this malignant Islamic crusade. Behind them stand Russia and China and North Korea, and also apparently the international left which is lining up squarely behind the jihadists -- and has been doing so throughout the open preparation of this second holocaust. The left's favorite apostle Noam Chomsky only months ago was embracing Hizbollah's Hitler, Hassan Nasrallah, and his genocidal agendas.

So here is the issue: If you were Israel's prime minister, could you afford to wait until Iran attains nuclear warheads for Hizbollah's missiles? Or can you be sure it hasn't already been supplied such warheads by Russia or China through Iran? Could you afford to wait to see if Syria will supply the chemical and biological weapons it has cached for Saddam Hussein to Hizbollah and Hamas? Or would you proceed to plan B and obliterate them now?

While the Israeli prime minister ponders this question, leftists who are encouraging the forces of genocide -- Hizbollah, Hamas, Syria and Iran -- might want to think how all the present bloodshed and the next terrible decisions that Israel must take to defend itself -- and their consequences -- will lie on their heads.

You're free to follow in John Wilkes Boothe's grimy footsteps.

I am not a Giuilaini fan but know enough about politics to recognize the next POTUS.

Well I just finished my second strong bong hit, and I agree.

Well, I just dropped my second four-way, and I can't even read or type.

I think the Pope sees that too, but there are many Christians and non fundamental muslims in Lebanon.

Anybody happen to mention to him there are many Jews in Israel?

You can tell where plutonium comes from after a nuclear detention.

Sister Carmella gave me one of those in High School. I had radiation sickness until the prom.

The entire statement, released by Sodano, is far more balanced than Reuters would lead us to believe. Don't fall for Reuters' usually slanted crap.

How long do you think it would take for Russia to make certain they do have nukes?

Should I respond to this. Do you think Christians don't see Israel as the center of the world? I am Christian with many Jewish ancestors.

Do you support Israel or are you trying to shove away those who stand behind Israel?

No, they play the game where the US does all the heavy lifting, and they do all the profiting.

Exactly right, I believe.

I think this pope does care about the Jewish state. He doesn't like it. There was no need for the Vatican Sovereign state or not to take a side here.

This war won't widen. Syria and Iran won't get drug into it.

It's between Hezbollah/Hamas and Israel. That's all.

The rest from the talking heads is worthless hyperventilating.

Syria hasn't mobilized its Reserves and has told Hezbollah to "STOP ATTACKING ISRAEL."

Saudi Arabia blames Hezbollah for the current crisis.

Iran says that it will only get involved if Israel attacks Syria, not Hezbollah.

Thus, Hezbollah is hung out to dry...left all alone.

Ergo, it's toast.

How much does that church buy in a year? How much has it bought in the past. What has it done in the past, IE power etc? Does it have branches in every country the world over?

The single biggest mistake made by folks who read this book is that they fail to understand that it was IN JOHNS TIME. So the "world" in Johns time had nothing at all to do with the "New World" or the Americas.

You will see a ten nation alliance within the islam world. The Harlot or church will not oppose that alliance. The Anti Christ will come from the old Greek, Persian or Assyrian areas. Saddam Hussein? I dunno, he aint dead yet is he. I have thoughts on who it might be other than Ol Saddam. One thing to remember..there WILL be peace for a short time..absolute peace while he rules abusively. We havent had that yet.

Its just the first inning in a long game. It will get much worse.

"Islam is the false religion spoken of."

I ain't never been to San Fransisco, but I once heard it was a city built on 7 hills. I have no idea if that is actually so, but the idea feels good to me. The new religion practiced by the San Franciscan politicians is in my view quite abominable .

I have on the other hand been to Boston, a city/town that was once called Tremont cuz it was originally built on 3 hills.

I do not actually necessarily disagree with you about Islam, but it is sort of like backward engineering. Calling Islam that, is simply incendiary. I got no problem with that by the way. You should just know what you are talking about. That is why I am here.

Sort of like the stuff that the higher critics consider the book of Daniel to be really all about.

You know that Saluecids and the sacrilege in the temple which had influence on the Maccabean revolt and Chanukah, and stuff. The stuff that led to the writing of a book by some creepy Rabbi liar that was supposedly written by Daniel the prophet hundreds of years earlier. That stuff.

We can tag that insolent religion with all sorts of names, but not all of it's adherents are monsters. I promise you that

Just thinking out loud here.....

Horowitz question, If you were Israel's prime minister, could you afford to wait until Iran attains nuclear warheads for Hizbollah's missiles?, is purely a straw-man argument.

The missiles Hizbollah are using are one step (maybe two steps) better than pop bottle rockets. In other words, no way are they capable of boosting a nuclear warhead. Nor is the technology in the M.E. (Iran) developed to the point that they could design and build a nuke warhead that could be fitted to a small - read that rudimentary - missile.

Without discounting the possibility that Iran does possess one or more nukes, the only possibilities I see for Iran or its allies to go nuke on Israel would be a very lucky suicide mission by a MIG that somehow managed to evade US intercept, or more likely by a nuke smuggled in by sea and detonated inland - again with a lot of luck involved.

The bluster of Iran having a missile capable of reaching Israel is probably just that, 80 percent bluster. The possibility of their having perfected a nuke warhead small enough to fit a midrange ballistic missile is, IMO, pure fantasy. They may be close to, or even have a nuke that would go Bang, but I would bet real bucks that they are a long ways away from a missile deliverable warhead.

Thoughts?
