"I would expect this to be bigger news if true."
Yes, at least as big as Al Qaeda-Saddam links and WMD material found in Iraq.

I think Iran already has a Nuke and are goading Israel into incursions into Syria to create a semblance of an excuse to drop the nuke bomb on Israel. And I think we should renew the very successful WWII "Lend Lease" program as regards Israel. In this case, we should loan them 2-3 fully loaded "Boomers". Then cry havoc.

If would be great if I did pick the right ones. One time I picked 4 out of 6, but that was ages ago. I haven't come close since.

That is why I don't understand the Pres. comment today about being concerned about the democratically elected leaders of Lebanon. they are allowing this to happen in their country! Also, the fact that they were democratically elected means nothing when you consider that so was Hamas.

Ole MoHamHead over in Iran just released a statement that "An attack on Syria would be considered an act of war on the entire islamic world and would bring a 'fierce' response" Bring it, camel humpers.

Lebanon says it doesn't control Hezbollah
I wonder if the strategy is to get the Lebanese government to capitulate and officially point the finger at the Syrians: "It wasn't us! It's the Syrians! We can prove it!"
Then BAM. Declaration of War on Syria, and Phase II.

Israel occupied Lebanon for years and it looks like they will have to do it again. Time for us to redeploy to Tehran!

Destabilizing the Syrian government is NOT in the best interest of those who want democracy in the ME.

Once I heard that she had posted personal ads on a millionaire dating website, I knew Greta would start tracking it.
Of course, now the hopes of solving the crime are totally dashed. I can't think of a single case of murder of a blonde that Greta has covered that has ever been solved.

I have no answer,....because I can never find the updates....and I get very frustrated.....
I prefer multiple threads and keywords....

Because it is far from clear to me, why it would be a good thing to be in Iraq, if there is a strategy to move on Iran. For being in Iraq leaves us vulnerable, not strong
Far from it. We are only vulnerable from a 'political' standpoint. If we desired, we could move all the people and equipment we desire back into Iraq at a moments notice. The bases are ours, the airfields are ours. The elected leadership can not refuse or it would mean their own deaths at the hand of insurgents we keep at bay.
Also, as Mark Felton mentioned, we now have bases all over the region that were established in the name of the Iraq war.
Sadaam would have been no ally. Remeber this was would be against his brethren in Syria as well.
The main point, and this has been kepy very quiet. But we ar OUT of Saudi Arabia. Gone. They wanted nothing to do with this. Without Saudi and Iraq, where do you go? Kuwait? We could barely stage the Iraq invasion from there, much less Iran.
Just take a look at a map. We are the big gorilla who just sat down in the middle of the Middle East living room.
