I've already stated that it is quite possible a mistake was made.
That being said, I see no reason to disbelieve what I heard until is has been retracted and/or corrected.
I served in the U.S. Army for 4 years, there is no need to preach to me about their situation and concerns, and they certainly have my full support.
I'm jumping to conclusions? I didn't simply make this up out of thin air, I heard what I heard, as did others.
I've just now heard it stated again on Fox by the same reporterette, who stated Israeli intelligence is working on the assumption that it was fired by the Iranian Guard.
Take it for what it's worth. I have quite significant confidence in the Israeli Intelligence, but I will be the first to say that there is always the possibility that they are wrong.
So, now that I've heard it again, what am I supposed to conclude, that the reports are wrong or mistaken or full of shi'ite?
Please tell me what to think, I do not have a mind capable of independent thought. /sarc off
And yes, I do appreciate your service to this country as I'm quite aware that your previous nick was MikeInIraq.

This is what was said - the IDF is operating under the assumption that Iranian Revoultionary forces fired the missile 1) b/c Iranian special forces are in lebanon and 2) the missile is Iranian made and 3) Hizbullah denied firing it

THe exact quote (Or as exact as I can get it) -- "Isreali officials are proceeding under the ASSUMPTION that the missile was fired by Iranian Republican Guard troops in Lebanon"

You are aware we have a picket fence blockade on N Korea...?
To: ArmstedFragg
When we post-mortem this thing completely, I think we'll discover that Israeli radio report was the original source, heard and repeated by Fox and CNN. Could well be,as well as a standard example of the 'fog of war'.

My hunch is that Israeli intelligence has it that some Iranian guards are embedded with the regular Hezbollah terrorists in Lebanon. That would make sense if these missiles are not something Hezbollah is used to using. They'd need someone to help them at first. Again, just a hunch there.

600+ posts on this thread and Fox News still won't put the *claim* onto their web site.
Nor does the BBC have it. Nor does the CNN web site have it.
No link.

'Under the assumption' means they don't have evidence--at least it is a serious yet somewhat toned down way of saying it. At least that is my reading. Regardless, I think even just 'assumption' is enough to prompt Israeli's into action when it comes to attacks on their land and people.
