BOB NOVAK, My Leak Case Testimony: 'I learned Valerie Plame's name from Joe Wilson's entry in 'Who's Who in America'... MORE Published reports that I took the Fifth Amendment, made a plea bargain with the prosecutors or was a prosecutorial target were all untrue... MORE... My primary source has not come forward to identify himself... Bill Harlow, the CIA public information officer who was my CIA source for the column confirming Mrs. Wilson's identity. I learned Valerie Plame's name from Joe Wilson's entry in 'Who's Who in America'... I answered questions using the names of Rove, Harlow and my primary source... I considered his wife's role in initiating Wilson's mission, later confirmed by the Senate Intelligence Committee, to be a previously undisclosed part of an important news story. I reported it on that basis.
Didn't see it but I read it here and just like I was gathering Joe was the primary source in his Whos who and people confirmed it. If this is the way it is, I am going to have a lot of fun watching all the meltdowns. Maybe Libby will have his case dismissed and make it even better.
LOL. I'll supply the arsenic for their kool-aid
BRITS ROUNDTABLE talking about this NOW
I think your chronology is basically correct, but it leaves out where Libby intersected with events. Any theories on that?
Wilson himself.
Who knew?
LOL
30 second updates please!!!
Thanks for posting that...Brit just quoted some of it.
LOL...Brit says "Novak's THURSDAY column is leaking out all over the place"...
Moira said...in the end...no one outed her.
Barnes says it's still unknown who The Source is...
OH DEAR...Mort Kondrake STILL thinks it was ILLEGALY leaked!!!

Prosecutors have questioned former CIA director George J. Tenet and deputy director John E. McLaughlin, former CIA spokesman Bill Harlow, State Department officials, and even a stranger who approached columnist Robert D. Novak on the street.
In doing so, special prosecutor Patrick J. Fitzgerald has asked not only about how CIA operative Valerie Plame's name was leaked but also how the administration went about shifting responsibility from the White House to the CIA for having included 16 words in the 2003 State of the Union address about Iraqi efforts to acquire uranium from Africa, an assertion that was later disputed.
So Fitzgerald's ridiculous claim that he was protecting "an important principle" by indicting Libby, and indeed his whole investigation, was nothing more than a pathetic, despicable smear job. If the prosecutor knew, as now appears incontrovertably to be true, that there was in fact nothing to investigate, it's time for him to apologize, resign, and never again aspire to hold an office of public trust, and for the President to pardon Libby.
Awwwwwww geeeeesh...Mort, Mort, Mort...
That makes sense. Somebody says "Wilson's wife recommended him for the job, she works for the CIA." Novak looks up Wilson in Who's Who and learns her name. He calls Harlow for confirmation and is given the info because Plame is a desk jocky.
Seems pretty much like Investigative Journalism 101.
IOW, there never was a story in the first place, other than a woman misusing her position to put her husband in a position to manufacture misleading propaganda.
I am shocked. Shocked I say (grabs popcorn). : )
Bingo.
This was always MUCH ADO ABOUT LESS THAN NOTHING.
R-U-S-S-E-R-T
"What was Joe Wilson's motive for "destroying his wife's career" and "damaging" national security???????"
Forgive me for going slightly off topic, but every time I see his name, I am reminded of that commercial, "What would you do for a Klondike bar?" from when I was a kid.
