Hollywood, CA (AHN) - Writing to an email list of his supporters that his follow-up documentary to "Fahrenheit 9/11," Michael Moore says "Sicko" is about three-quarters done and on target for a 2007 release by the Weinstein Co.
Moore writes, "We've spent the better part of the year shooting our next movie, 'Sicko.' As we've done with our other films, we don't discuss them while we are making them," adding that, "If people ask, we tell them 'Sicko' is 'a comedy about the 45 million people with no health care in the richest country on Earth."
Adding that he received 19,000 responses to his February call for letters describing personal experiences with the health care system, Moore says, "I don't think the country needs a movie that tells you that HMOs and the pharmaceutical companies suck. Everybody knows that. I'd like to show you some things you don't know. So stay tuned for where this movie has led me. I think you might enjoy it."
Except for the appeal for health care stories and some mentions while he was promoting "Fahrenheit," Moore has been mostly silent on "Sicko." However, pharmaceutical companies have already mounted plans to combat the doc, including circulating memos to employees warning them not to cooperate with Moore.
Meanwhile, two years after "Fahrenheit" debuted, setting the record for a documentary at the box office, earning $119 million in the U.S., Moore has remained a popular target of conservative commentators, a status he seems to enjoy.
Moore went on to tell Variety, "I realize that my silence doesn't stop the opposition with their weird obsession for me!" adding that, "I have to say I did enjoy Tom DeLay blaming me and Ms. Streisand for why he had to resign from Congress!"

Michael Moore naming his movie "Sicko" ranks up there with Ted Kennedy naming his dog "Splash."

45 million people with no health care What an idiot. "No health insurance" is NOT the same as "no health care". He should just STFU and have another cheeseburger.

They can all get healthcare. They just dont have insurance, so they don't get the thrill of paying for it.

Well I'm sure he's gladly helped others pay for health insurance out of his own pocket. /s

Now, a slight revision.... The movie is "Tort-ure"
Adding that he received 19,000 responses to his February call for letters describing personal experiences with the legal system, Moore says, "I don't think the country needs a movie that tells you that lawyers suck.

Let me go out on a limb and guess that Moore's "unbiased" documentary finds that Hillary-care is the solution for the health care "crisis". The movie will be released in time to get the liberal kooks that actually watch Moore's garbage fired up to support Hillary in 2008.

Get ready for all the health care nightmare stories to prop up Hitlery in 2008. WE are going to be bombarded with stories of people going bankrupt, blah, blah, blah. And remember that the GOP was the ones pushing the bankruptcy bill. National heatlhcare at a cost of 21% of your income, it's coming sooner than you think.
To: WestTexasWend
I'm sure it will be as unbiased and fair as all his other, eh hem.... "documentaries".

I find it a little strange that a grotesquely obese fatass slob who is a walking advertisement for heart attacks and strokes should be poking fun at a healthcare system he will soon be a patient of.

45 million is just a little more than one sixth of the population.
What he doesn't get is that human bodies are actually made pretty well. You don't really NEED healthcare as he defines it. And his definition seems to mean that if you don't have health care insurance, you don't have healthcare.
I didn't for almost ten years. To use a longwinded analogy, it was like having a Toyota without a dealership around. It is usually only an issue after high mileage. And when you know there is nowhere to fix it, a prudent man changes his oil regularly, among other things. If you drive it offroad like a jeep, don't come crying to me when you break an axle and there is no dealership.
This whole issue is a longsuffering red herring.

I don't think the country needs a movie that tells you that HMOs and the pharmaceutical companies suck. I wonder how many pharmaceuticals the lard-ass has to gulp down every day to keep his overburdened heart pumping.
