Let us pause briefly now in memory of Ann Coulter, who has been banished from the opinion pages of The Gazette. OK, that’s long enough. It was a tough week for Coulter. While the decision was being made to stop publishing her column here, she was being relentlessly vilified at the annual conference of the Ann Coulter Defamation League, aka the National Society of Newspaper Columnists. I’d be surprised if either event bothered her much. Coulter is the tall, thin, blond, extremely acerbic conservative who was added to our Sunday lineup to replace Cal Thomas. The announcement prompted angry letters even before a single Coulter column appeared. When we actually printed something she wrote, all hell broke loose.

I doubt it. I lived there for two years and the folks are pretty conservative.
More likely the lefty newsfolks were all adither.
Yet when they are even questioned about some of their words or actions, they whine that their rights are being trampled. There is no one more intolerant than the liberal left!
Sounds like the free market at work to me.
Unless you actually subscribe to their paper, they probably aren't going to care what you think.
I find it amusing that the most rabid hate speech pours for the pens of the Political Left for years aimed at President Bush and the Editors do NOTHING about it. NOW, a Conservative dares to shoot back and the Left's Editors answer is the modern day equivalent of a book burning. To quote Jean-Jacques Rousseau, Burning is not answering.

The only "dissent" or "free speech" that the left tolerates is THEIR speech or dissent against America or conservatives and Republicans.
The same as my friends or relatives that "don't want to talk politics" means they don't want to hear my views or any facts.

I was born and raised there and left on my 18th birthday, then came back for a couple years before escaping again. The place is as liberal as they come.
