I guess you noticed that DU is at least partly supported by advertising now. Pretty funny considering their commie anti-capitalism.

I contacted two of their advertisers. I didn't give any opinion of DU, I just asked if they knew what their ads were supporting and gave them a link back to threads on DU.

One ad was for bracelets for those with loved ones in the military and the other was for jewelry made in Jerusalem. The jewelry ad was at the end of a thread blaming Israel for everything but split ends.
Both ads were gone the next day.

We should all help DU make sure that their advertisers support and endorse DU's enlightened world view.

OMG... as a professional engineer I can categorically state that was the most distressing read I've ever had. He obviously knows little about failure analysis. :-)

Couple of problems with his stupid theory.

1) is that he is missing the floors. the floors were constructed with trusses

2) the external structure was made of steel beams that the trusses were attached to

3) missing the fact that the floors that got hit added hundreds of tons of steel and fuel in a matter of micro seconds.

The resulting burning of the fuel and sudden added weight resulted in the steel trusses melting, and then giving way, creating a multiton domino effect from floor to floor. The sudden weight caused the external structure to bow and break, thus the collapes. The rabbit cage also wasn't on fire for more than a few minutes, unlike the towers.

I'll wait for this idiots to prove the moon landing is lie theory with a bottle of diet coke and a few Mentos!

I would love a chance to question this "researcher" in depth. I want to know how he measured temperatures. I want to know how he measured stress loads and how he approximated them to scale. What about control subjects and alternate processes.

An average 5th grade B science student would laugh at the idiot.

Oh, I dunno. It's at least as scientifically relevent as the cr@p on "Mythbusters." FWIW, I had my fire academy watching the WTC live in the classroom (I heard about it on the radio coming in, and thought of the plane hitting the Empire State Building. At that time, of course, we thought it was an accident, but I wanted them to see a major fire department incident unfold.). Approximately twenty minutes before the first tower collapsed (it was hit second, but lower), I told the class that the tower that was hit lower was gone, and that the other tower probably was gone. It was a classic pancake collapse, and I find it incredible that anyone who has even a rudimentary understanding of building construction, fire load inside office buildings, heat effects on steel frames and impact loads doesn't understand how the collapse occured.
