The value of Ray Robinson's recent piece for FOXNews.com can be understood better by reviewing other events from the same time period that are available through public relevant sources. Much is known about Iraqs motives and position at the time. Particularly, in 1998-99, Iraq was the subject of ongoing international attempts to inspect the country for WMDs and the U.S. State Dept. and others revealed that internal and external pressures had laid the foundation for Iraqs desire to rebuild its international terrorist infrastructure. The topic of Iraqs motivations is a topic and article unto itself, so for now I will refer readers to a previous post in which I reviewed some of those factors. The Talibans hosting of al Qaeda had brought international pressures on Afghanistan that hadnt previously existed. Both parties were under increasing U.N./U.S. led international pressure.

Thanks for ping. Yet another post that includes many references worthy of bookmark and further analysis.
As you can imagine, it really is only a matter of time when some of the American public shall learn what some have known for a long time.
As I have voice a number of times at FR, eventually well written books in support of all the things this administrationa and nations that supported us, shall surface in bookstores. Perhaps 5 to 10% of the population will purchase the books and then see what the deal has been.
GWB shall go down in history as an American President who had the guts to do something about the world's growing Islamic menace.

After reading through the links I did see one I want to purchase, Saddam's Ties To Al Queda by Sam Pender.

It may well turn out to be worth the cost.

Every time I see one of these threads, I shake my head and wonder all over again WHY this administration downplays what we (and they) know to be true--and let the left and the media (redundant, I know) rewrite history for us.

Exactly...and why weren't these documents translated and included in the SSCI. Now history has to be rewritten.

Because all the weapons we have found have come from China, Russia and France. Unfortunately, the US needs these three countries to help pressure the other rogue governments around the world and we can't afford to be in open conflict right now.
I remember when are guys first got to Iraq and every weapon dump or secret stash of weapons contained French and Russian-made stock. The soldiers always remarked that they were "new" weapons.
It's all about making nice...for now.

It probably will remain a mystery. Only thing I can think of is either the Administration has played up to the demorats and L/MSM in such a way as to first appear vulnerable, easy pickings, later to drop the hammer in a big way on them, and perhaps set up the 2006/2008 elections to favor republicans.
And of course. One does not always want to devulge to much upfront info, when one still have troops on the ground.
For all we know a lot of wmds may have been located, cataloged, and stored for future proof by visiting say UN inspectors to then show the world the Intel was not the least flawed in the end analysis, other then the admitted oversights due to conditions on the ground during ten year spotty monitoring.
If above turns out to be the case, Casius Clay has nothing over GWB for pulling off the perfect rope a dope.

On that one, I have not a clue. What really is in his mind, and those that guide him. We cannot ignore the ramifications of what is happening. Yet at the same time, in the bigger picture, lets face it, US business at all levels, from farming, mom/pop, up to the largest corporations all desire to hire low cost labor where appropriate.
And we have to face the realities of a global market. NAFTA and CAFTA are a reality. How does one balance what is best for the majority of Americans verse what is best for American business.
One thing is for sure. As the minorities become the majority, the demorats shall gain prominence in the future.
So it is not just national security, drug issues, the simple fact that our Federal and State levels are permitting aliens a free ride at the expense of the rest of us, but what mix of voters shall we have in the future.
Let us not forget as the low/low-middle income earners in this country where embraced by the democrats of the 1930's onward, the congress for a very long time was controlled by the demorats. Only recently had the republicans gained control of the hill.
Now the country is basically 50-50. This will not be the case in the future. One will have the continued throngs of liberal educated younger generation, as well as the masses who migrate here and will vote for the democrats.
Minorities by default and with the help of Socialism multiply like rabbits. Tis just the way things are.
Those that where more traditional in long held American values (work ethic for instance, strong national defense, rally behind the flag), will become a minority.
One can see this at play for a number of years. Now add the potential for absorbing vast amounts of people from a different culture, that really have no interest whatsover in becoming traditional Americans, only using the system and getting the bennies, and obviously we have a real problem.
I am sure I bring out nothing most of us are not well aware of. But what could any POTUS do without a very strong one sided backing from the Hill, State Governments, the Supreme Court etc.. Congress create the laws that we must abide by.
And as we well can see this issue is really proving hard to deal with. The congress has had how many years now, to have addressed this issue and have simply turned their face from the responsibility.
