ALLENTOWN, Pennsylvania A woman who traveled the lecture circuit with her account of being raped and infected with AIDS as a child has been charged with defrauding the state of Pennsylvania of $66,000 by falsely claiming to have the disease.
Cassey Weierbach, 27, was arraigned Friday on charges of theft by deception, forgery, tampering with records and making false statements.
She has told her story for years to news reporters, churches, youth groups and medical conferences. But in June, The Morning Call newspaper of Allentown published a story in which a pastor accused Weierbach of duping her congregation.
Arrest records state that Weierbach used fabricated laboratory records to indicate she had AIDS so she could receive medical benefits in 2003.
She also provided false information in 2004 and 2005 to at least three area doctors, one of whom became suspicious after Weierbach refused AIDS medications, according to an affidavit.
Weierbach, free on $25,000 bail, did not have a listed telephone, and it was unclear whether she had a lawyer.
Liars and the lying liberals on the left who lie...
Somehow, I'll bet the rest of the MSM takes a pass on this story. Doesn't fit the template, dontchaknow.
Actually, all the needs doing to get the MSM to pick up this story is for this woman to claim that "Bush made her do it."
Any man will do. That's how the courts and the media play it.
Bet she's a dem.
We're going to see a bleeding heart liberal try to spin it as a "but look at all the good they did by talking to kids about AIDS" story.
In most states, people with AIDS get free housing, free medicine, and disability pensions.
Also, when PWAs ask for drugs (narcotics), a lot of doctors write 'em to make them go away. It's a little freaky to lie to get those things, but the cash value can really add up.
I can hear it already.
"I'm sorry I claimed I had AIDS...it's...it's just this war and that lying son of a bitch, Bush!"
Throw him in prison, in general population and see how long he remains aids free.
The real tradegy is that she will be with us much longer than we thought........
LOL!
This reminds me of the faked "hate crimes" we see on college campuses. I think its a psychosis on the part of white liberals that, to get the proper attention and sympathy liberals seek, they invent things so, they too, can be viewed as a "victim", free from logic or criticism.
LOL.So true.I believe it is a mentall illness. They need the attention and approval of their peers.
Who?!?
She had also claimed that her best friend shot herself in the head after being raped by the same man. It's rare for females to shoot themselves in the head...did this friend ever really exist?
Makes one wonder if she is wheelchair-bound by necessity, too, or just a wannabe.
The friend existed but neither of them was raped by Casey's father and her friend didn't shoot herself either.
Murray's doubts intensified one night on the tour when Weierbach stood up out of her wheelchair and danced in a bar after drinking some shots, said Murray
From an earlier article in Morning Call about Weierbach:
Cassey bristles at any suggestion that she does not have AIDS.Rather, she says, she is the victim of a vengeful Pastor Lois, who was scandalized by Cassey's romantic involvement with a woman.
"It seems like she is going to make my life living hell," she said, referring to the pastor. "Do you hate me so much because I'm gay that you are willing to destroy my life?"
A friend dying in her arms, fabrications about a famous transportation accident (she claimed her father was on TWA Flight 800; he's still alive)... I don't know if Cassey is James Frey in drag or if James Frey is Cassey in drag.
I think she use to work for Jim Baker and PTL.
Rape? AIDS? Homosexual? Church?
I rest my case!
