Palestinians report that dozens of IDF soldiers are encircling a structure of the Palestinian police in Ramallah housing al-Aqsa Martyrs Brigade members apparently behind kidnap and murder of settler teen
Palestinian sources in Ramallah said Monday night that a large IDF force is encircling a Palestinian police station in the city.
The force is encircling the structure containing three members of Fatahs armed wing, the al-Aqsa Martyrs Brigades, apparently involved in last weeks kidnap and murder of Eliyahu Asheri, 18, of Itamar.
Exchanges of fire were reported at the scene.
The Fatah members are trapped in the station after being arrested by Palestinian police. According to Palestinian security forces, the IDF is involved in a large operation.
A military source told Ynet that dozens of soldiers, military jeeps, tanks and bulldozers are surrounding the structure.
The activists were arrested by Palestinian police a few days after Asheri's kidnapping due to suspicions that they were involved in the abduction.
PRC claimed responsibility
At first they were held in a police station close to the PA Ramallah headquarters (Mukata), but they escaped and were again arrested three days ago.
After the second arrest it was decided to hold them at the police's central headquarters in the city, not far from the command and control center at Beit El.
Although the Popular Resistance Committees said it was behind the attack, it became known that the kidnapping was planned and carried out by Fatah members.
Last Thursday IDF soldiers discovered Asheris body in Ramallahs Tira neighborhood.
Asheri was kidnapped early last week by Popular Resistance Committees members and was apparently murdered immediately following the abduction.
A large Shin Bet and IDF force arrived at the neighborhood and discovered Asheris body in a field covered in dirt. The body was transferred by ambulance to the Ofer army base for identification by Shai District Police forensics experts, and was later transferred to the Abu Kabir Forensics Institute in Tel Aviv.
Last Wednesdays arrest and interrogation of a senior Fatah member suspected of murdering Asheri led security forces to the body. The investigation revealed that the teen was shot in his head from short range.

Warning! This is a high-volume ping list.
Go IDF!!!
No escape now!
Ages old proverb (slightly modified) "If One Lies With Dogs... One Dies With His Fleas"...
The "Palestinian Police" would be wise to merely protest but announce that they will not lose their lives protecting murderers from Israeli Justice. Even if tried by the Israelis, these murdering scum will merely draw 20-30 year prison terms!
The noose tightens. Haman's helpers will swing soon.
I'm almost afraid this Israeli incursion will unite Fatah and Hamas. Just a few weeks ago it looked like a Palestinian civil war was about to start. Now....
It's anybody's guess.
I fully expect the Israelis to kill these scum on the spot
One can only hope.
So what if thwy unite. They are pond scum together or apart.
So what if they unite. They are pond scum together or apart.

Uh, Napolean, use your head. They will be able to KILL MORE INNOCENT PEOPLE united than if they stayed apart.
I never doubted they were pond scum. I just know they are a less lethal pond scum when disunited and killing each other.
Get it now?
Congratulations to YOU! You are right on target!
But let's withhold the banner congratulations to the IDF at least for now, until we see what the ultimate result will be. We still have to be concerned about the fact that this Israeli government was considered dovish until the last week or so, and could revert back to "form."
Couldn't have said it any better.

You raise some valid points. Its probably too early to say, but it looks as if Kadima without Sharon is like Likud, but without Likud's courage to do the right thing. The jury is still out on that of course, and we'll just have to see how this plays out.
The "Congratulations" banner was on the IDF's terrific tactical surprise of the al-aksa crowd that was responsible for the murder of 18 years old Asheri. Hopefully, surrounding and killing these mutants sent a potent message to the bad guys.
"will draw merely draw 20-30 years..."
Nah, they will be part of a prisoner release program the nest time the Israelis decide on a "good faith" move.
