Report: Egyptians saw Shalit alive
Jerusalem Post ^ | July 3, 2006 | JPOST STAFF

The London-based Al Hayat newspaper reported on Monday that Egyptian representatives in the Gaza Strip confirmed that kidnapped IDF Cpl. Gilad Shalit is alive.

The report also supported previous Palestinian announcements that Shalit was receiving medical care for wounds sustained in the attack on IDF forces during which he was abducted eight days ago.

Since Shalit was kidnapped near Kerem Shalom on the Gaza border, reports that he was seen alive have consistently turned out to be false, Army Radio reported.

Palestinian sources also reported that Egypt has decided to persist in efforts to negotiate an agreement between Israel and the Hamas for Shalit's release.

My best guess is, the residents of Gaza have never been more interested in Shalit being alive than they are right now.

The report makes it sound like he is probably dead but Egypt would'nt step in in this manner if he was.

Fine - if he's alive, Palis, get us a videotape with him citing today's date. We all know you guys are good at that sort of thing, so why haven't you done it?

He's been dead since shortly after he was kidnapped, IMHO. Otherwise, they would have trotted him out by now to play the world media. They can't, because he's dead.

What's next if Gilad Shalit is dead?

The fact that no picture has yet to come to the media of the guy...does suggest that the guy is dead. The amusing thing for the Palestinians...will be when his body is dumped and recovered...and they confirm his death of at least a week...and all the bombing and kidnapping of PLO politicans was wasted effort. If I were the the Isrealis...I'd hold the politicans for months and set into stage a new PLO election campaign to replace the guys held. Then the day after the after the elections...just release the old guys. The amount of confusion will be like a 3-ring circus.

Thank God! That's certainly welcome news. Prayers continue for his safe return. Then Israel can destroy the Palestinians. LOL

I find that peculiar as well. the BBC, FAP and other pro pali media are always right there when things happen (staging fake news) but strangely absent now. It's because the guy is dead, and has been since the day he was kidnapped. I hope Israel blows up the dome of the rock for revenge. It doesn't belong there anyways. BOOM! Common Israel! get rid of that eyesore (and lie) That boys life is worth at LEAST that much!

Then I suspect everyone in the Pali government except Abbas is in for an explosive Israeli greeting card.

And, since the Palis haven't paid their bill in forever, leave the power and water off.

Except that this is just a stall, and Shalit is dead. If he wasn't, the Palis would have exploited his image by now.

Nah. Far better to convert it into a synagogue or church.

Or a pig sty. With pigs.

Also, IMHO, if Israel leaves the water and power off and tells them to "get your Arab brothers to whom you are appealing to provide power and water to you", I can just about guarantee that 90+ percent of that population will leave. That area isn't inhabitable without water.

Drudge Report has news link, "Palestinian militants holding Israeli soldier give Israel until Tuesday to release Palestinian prisoners or 'pay the consequences'..." by AP reporter embedded with Hamas!

I pray he's alive. Either way, they'll use this to justify their continual whining over Israel's overdue retribution.

Still, the endgame is predictable:

I'm afraid you're probably right. He's so young, I was hoping he would still be alive, but then, we KNOW those savages like to kill ANYONE who is not a Muslim, especially Jews and Christians. They take pleasure in killing children of the "Infidels" too. THAT must really please Allah.

I have been wondering if this could be Israel's way of escalating things to be able to go into Iran and take out their nuclear facilities. They've already buzzed that long necked idiot from Sryia to put him on notice, and I think it's Syria and Iran who support Hezzbolah and Hamas who are working with the Palestinians. Israel can't afford to let Iran get nukes, and it doesn't seem like the US or the rest of the world wants to stop them. I 'think' Iraq's WMD ended up in Iran and Syria, and that's another reason they need to destroy all known storage facilities in both countries. Hopefully, they haven't already transferred them to Hezzbolah or Hamas to use on Israel.

Since we are preoccupied in Iraq and have the threat of North Korea to deal with, Israel may have decided to take care of things themselves. I hope they do, and I hope they slaughter ALL of the terrorist groups working in and through the Palestinians! Who knows, this might have the blessings of the White House.
