It's Swiftboating Season

During her husband's presidency, Hillary Clinton liked to complain about persecution at the hands of the "vast right-wing conspiracy." She took for granted, of course, ideological support from the dominant liberal mass media. Ever short on reasoned rebuttal, liberaldom has now come up a new buzzword to rationalize legitimate criticism. It's "swiftboating." A recent letter to the editor from a livid Boulderite (where else?) complained that, "University of Colorado professor Ward Churchill is clearly the latest focus of a 'swift boat'-style campaign. Each of us should be asking ourselves, 'Who's next?' " She then went on to lambaste the Rocky Mountain News for participating in this "specious attack."
In light of Monday's announcement

The left never wants to address the questions that are raised.

I love it. In their blind ignorance they don't realize that most Americans revered the Swift Boat Vets for Truth for their courage, their service to their country, and for getting the truth out about that traitorous kerry.

Swiftboating is hereby defined as the act of exposing a liberal doing evil (and possibly hurting their feelings in the process).

If the swifties were lying why didn`t kerry sue for libel,or more importantly release his military record.by the way how do you get 3 purple hearts without spending a night in a hospital, break a bone, receive a stitch,or be shot by enemy fire?when is MSM going to get to bottom of that?don`t hold your breath.

All the swiftboat guys did was tell the truth, and the Dems act like you're pouring acid on them. Like throwing water on the Witch of the East.
Ordinary people complained about Churchill, but his fellow academics took him out. They didn't do it because of his beliefs, because truth be told, they agree with him. They fired him because he's dishonest, and a plagiarist, and obnoxious to boot. No one of those would be enough to get him kicked out, but all of them together, combined with the fact that no one could take him seriously as a professor after his media exposure, all that together pushed him out.
He pointed the gun at himself, and his fellow leftist academics pulled the trigger. All we did was hold the flashlight.

Last paragraph worth highlighting:
It's bad enough when liberals use this term [Swiftboating]. When supposedly objective journalists use it, it's intolerable.

Cindy Sheehan hasn't been "swiftboated." She's an emotionally distraught, foolish airhead. And that's not an ad hominen attack. If you've listened to her speak, it's an accurate, clinical appraisal. This guy is being kind.

That is one of the biggest problems with the new american left - The still don't understand what the Swiftees were, or were about. They refuse reality time and time again.

My Father, a US Navy WWII veteran, died about two weeks after the 3.5 million-vote Bush victory in 2004. He supported John O'Neill and the Swift Boat Vets and thanked them to his dying day for helping to rally veterans nationwide to defeat Kerry. Myself, a Vietnam veteran, thank the Swift Boat vets every day and every time that I see, or hear, or read about John Kerry. He branded a whole generation of honorable servicemen with his lies about our conduct in Vietnam. There is no depth for the contempt with which I hold the man. Dad, you were a hero and you fought the good fight to the very end. God Bless you!
