What Democrats did not expect: Vindication of the Bush Presidency

I sit here with a smirk on my face as I write this. In the past month, the Bush Presidency has been vindicated by history. Many times President Bush has eluded the fact that history will vindicate the decision to go into Iraq, and other policies of the ‘Bush Doctrine’ of Preemptive Strikes. Not many people thought that that vindication would come all at one time, and even more so, this quickly. Even the President himself once said that “Americans 50 or 60 years from now…” when referring to when he thinks the decision would be vindicated.

So here we are in the last few weeks of June and the vindication keeps rolling in. First of all, many people were taken off guard when Bush called Iran, Iraq, and North Korea part of an “Axis of Evil.” Besides Iraq, it wasn’t clear how evil Iran and North Korea really were.

The other two members of the Axis took a while to “come out of the closet” but yes, they too, are showing their evil side. Iran has been secretly building a nuclear program and consistently blowing off United Nations and International Atomic Energy Agency inspectors, protocols, and negotiations. Currently they have defied calls from both the United States and the European Union to stop enriching uranium, which is a major part of making a nuclear weapon, and continued the process, with full steam ahead.

Next, North Korea has been rattling its own nuclear sabers lately. It seems they were going to test launch a missile that had the potential to reach the shores of this country. The United States and its Allies in Asia sounded the warning against any missile launch and even have made notice that it can be considered an act of war. So far, no missile has been launched, but with the knowledge that North Korea has nuclear weapons, I know I do not want to see if one of their missiles can reach our shores here in America.

Finally, the semi-big story of the week: WMD. Weapons of Mass Destruction have been found in Iraq. According to a Senate press conference and an unclassified part of a Defense Department report, over 500 munitions have been found which contain weapons grade chemical material. Democrats have raised the red flag, however, because the weapons are degraded, but in reality dangerously lethal toxins are never fully safe no matter how old they get.

For the sake of argument, let’s say these weapons are worthless and won’t even kill a bird. It still proves that Saddam was hiding WMD from the UN Inspectors that came both after the 1991 Gulf War, and before the 2003 Iraq War. That right there proves, in theory, that there could be more WMD out there for us, or the terrorists to find.

So as the month of July begins, and Americans are out there barbequing or watching fireworks, keep an eye out for the vindication that keeps rolling on in. And also keep an eye out for the men and women that serve our country to protect us from the evils that we face today, and when you do see those soldiers, marines, sailors, airmen, etc., just remember to say thank you for our freedom we enjoy today.

Good article but the left continue to repeat the tired phrase that there were no WMD's in spite of the actual evidence. Remember "Bush Lied" is the critical lynch pin of their mantra.

Excellent points. It's too bad so few of our national pundits can't put together a column with so many fine points. I cannot believe how many of them are utterly indifferent to the "degraded" WMD. Maybe it'd make good syrup on their pancakes.

You should, without a doubt call the readers' attention to the declassified intel documents that are being published on the web and translated by citizen translators. Jveritas is the screen name the main guy uses on here. The most recent translation is one of the best yet on WMD. The press just ignores the hell out of this stuff even though it's the only evidence available to prove or disprove what was going on inside Iraq.

May I suggest: "That right there establishes, in theory, that there could be more WMD out there for us, or the terrorists to find.

In place of: "That right there proves, in theory, that there could be more WMD out there for us, or the terrorists to find."

I'm nitpicking, but something isn't really 'proved' if it is "in theory".

"President Bush has eluded the fact"

___________________________________

Don't you mean he alluded to the fact...??
ie he made reference to the fact and not
he attempted to escape the fact.

Good points all.

Just tighten up the grammar a bit and it's good to go.

Awkward construction in this sentence. Maybe "The vindication of Bush's decisions and policies has eluded him."

An even more important point is the disclosure of Iraq and al quada ties.

Not to mention the $25,000 (or so) he sent to the family of every Hamas suicide bomber that killed Jews in Israel.

It still proves that Saddam was hiding WMD from the UN Inspectors that came both after the 1991 Gulf War, and before the 2003 Iraq War.

It also proves that Iraq was in violation of U.N. ceasefire resolution 687 passed after the Gulf War.

Good read.
As I was driving from Jacksonville Florida to DesMoines Iowa I was listening to talk radio and picked up O'Reilley's radio show which I usually don't listen too. But Bill made a point. He suggested the President go after the MSM and get this out into the area of political debate. Let the American people decide who they would sooner have protection America, the New York Times or President Bush. The more I thought about this the more sense it made.
Don't know what other Freeper's think about this idea. I am not a big O Reilley fan. But this point made some sense. America needs to decide whether the media sets our policy or the President.
As for me, I would prefer Lincoln's idea of hanging them but alas that is probably not realistic in this world.
