JERUSALEM (AP) Israeli officials say warplanes flew over the home of Syrian President Bashar Assad.
so is this pretty much real time or several hours ago?

Nice graphic ;-)
Thank you. Interesting timing.
OMG...just heard the reporter on ABC radio news @ 2 (eastern)...he said ..it's a very provocative move for Israel to fly over the Syrian president's house. He then went on to interview a young Palestinian who will "fight to the death" to save his home...
THIS..is what passes for reporting events..total bias.
Syria learned its lesson in '82, when they lost 80 planes to Israel's ZERO in the most lopsided dogfight in history.
Heh, heh, heh :o)
Real time; CNN still has it in Breaking News. Fox had it there until about 5 minutes ago.
Wish we had the balls Israel has..
This says volumes about Syria's air defenses (or rather, the lack thereof).
I can just see the dialog from the border as the planes went over:
"Achmed! Look!"
"Look at what, Mohammed?"
"I think it's some big birds. Golly, are they loud"
"Should we shoot at them?"
"No, they'll be gone in a minute. Here, have another hit off the hookah".
LQ
why now? first of all, they will go to any lengths to retrieve one of their soldiers/citizens; second of all, since they set up a "border" with the Gaza withdrawal, with all the rockets, missiles, invasions, threat of WMD attack coming from Palestinians, they have the right to defend themselves against same.
Yeah, that's why I think the message here is "We own the sky", or simply "pwned"
It's typical. Note that they stole that word (provocative) from Condi when she was talking about the potential NK missile launch.
The MSM is not only bias, but incappable of original thought.
Went to lunch figuring that this thing would blow over. Then Ernest mentioned that the IAF has buzzed Syria.
For that alone, there may be a shooting war soon.
Yeah, I know, but that was 24 or so years ago.
Of course, that in some ways is Syrian's problem ... they are still using basically the same stuff they had back then while Israel has continued to advance technologically.
From Haaretz 20:38
Syria: IAF flyover will not effect our positions regarding militants (Ch. 10)
In the Bekaa Turkey-Shoot the poor old Syrians were flying figure 8s, trying to work out what to do ... because they relied on ground direction, and the Israelis jammed their comms.
Also - I read that the Syrian SAM/radar sites were located in valleys - so the Syrians could avoid digging latrines.
I also sometimes like "When dealing with barbarians, it sometimes becomes necessary to stoop to their level, as they can hardly be expected to rise to ours."
