While the servile Russian Duma still issues moronic statements blaming the "occupiers" for the death of Russian hostages, at least there is a hope that the real killers will be punished.
Who knows, maybe GazPutin will even stop cozying up to Iran, although I probably aiming too far.

I don't trust Putin and no many other Russians as far as I could throw them. But the staright talk is right on. Can you imagine the media orgasm that would occur if Bush used that language?

The killers could be appointed [i.e. manufactured for the occasion]. How is one to know that they are the real ones?

Is this a vigilante hit squad?
Russia needs to provide troops or police assistance if they want to have the license to kill.

The title of this thread is incorrect. Russia has NOT said it would 'kill' the miscreants. Russia has stated clearly they would 'destroy' them. To 'kill' them would imply they are human, as opposed to the monsters they are (with apologies to actual monsters).

Just recently I revisited the beheading videos from Iraq of various past hostages. These revolting awful clips are reminders of the vicious enemy the MSM and NY SLimes cozies up to. Can't blame Putin one bit but dont fully trust that sneaky ex KGB agent.

Vladimir Putin has ordered special services to "find and destroy" the killers
To: sergey1973
As I asked on another Putin seeking revenge thread, what were unprotected Russian diplomats doing in this civil war quagmire savaged land in the first place? Saddam is in jail. Our media has warned the whole earth what a mess we have created in Iraq.
Now we have been hearing that JFKerry for president line of the international 'peace, peace, peace' with the insurgents talks being promoted by the global media gods, so I am curious about the timing and what is really on the agenda?
Putin is hosting the G-8 Summit soon and he has said it is to be about 'energy security'. So were these diplomats killed near any of Iraq's oil production centers? Only partial sarcasm.

I understand their desire for a response, and making a noise could be helpful if only to call attention to the unacceptability of insurgents' and terrorists' actions. But how about providing solid help to the peacekeeping efforts? Not to mention the diplomatic efforts to bring about reform in the region.

The Russians don't screw around. They did exactly this when one of their agents got killed in Lebanon back in the 70s. That was the end of terrorists messing with them until these Iraqi bozos forgot the Russian rules--or never knew them.
I wish we played the same way--but we have to make nice and talk about 'bringing them to justice'

I remember the famous story attributed to former CIA head William Casey. Hezbollah kidnapped a couple of Russia diplomats in Beruit around 1982. The KGB snatched a couple of cousins of the (suspected) kidnappers, killed them and left their corpses with their penises sewed in their mouths. The Russian ('cusa me, Soviet) diplomats quickly materialized, unharmed.
Casey's comment: The KGB speaks Hezbollah's language.

Russian President Vladimir Putin has ordered special services to "find and destroy" the killers of four Russian diplomats taken hostage in Iraq. The head of Russia's security services immediately pledged to see Putin's order carried out.
Did the UN approve this plan?
Will the axis of whiners start whining?
