So Starr went to the doctor and was told she is too thin.
"I want a second opinion, Doctor.", she asked.
"Ok", said the doc. "You're ugly too."

The View has a distinct liberal tint to its patter. And as we know, one of the tenets of feminist theology is that women have a right to whatever kind of body size they want, free of societal restraints You mean free of male judging and choosing.

Walters has changed her tune since Jones announced on the show that she was leaving, it's turning into a nice catfight. Jones' replacement will be Rosie O'Donnell, once again making a bold statement as to the lack of any sort of relevance The View has in the real world.
To: governsleastgovernsbest
"Walters said ABC network chiefs had decided last fall not to renew Reynolds' contract because its research showed that Reynolds' dramatic weight loss and 2004 wedding to banker Al Reynolds had turned viewers off."
Per Fox&Friends this morning, Walters or 'The View' are now saying they had no intention of renewing Reynolds' contract because she 'took too much stuff and used her position to ask for freebies for her wedding', which was against 'The View' policies.
Behar has been the 'comedic' on the program. It will be interesting for watchers to see whether catfights develop between Behar and O'Donnell.

After the way the cast of "The View" treated (really mistreated) Laura Ingraham when she was on the show to talk about her book "Shut up and Sing" a few years ago, I could care less which obnoxious miscreant was replaced by yet another even more obnoxious miscreant. One of the best exercise of free choice my late mother made was to stop watching this show and instead spend her last 4 years watching whatever was on FOX NEWS.

one of the tenets of feminist theology is that women have a right to whatever kind of body size they want, free of societal restraints. Not to quibble, but I don't think that's a cornerstone of FEMINIST theology. I just think that's libertarian common sense. Don't men have a right to whatever kind of body size THEY want? Or does some bureaucrat somewhere now get to tell me to drop 20 pounds and firm up those sagging abs?

"Black" doesn't garner nearly as many "PC points" as "lesbian" anymore.
Look for Star to be replaced by an illegal alien (the ultimate "PC" coupe), who will join the conversation everyday from an undisclosed location.

Don't tell that to Elizabeth. She will kick you butt. Remember she is a survivor and an extremely conservative person.

Typical liberal hypocrisy; "Do as I say, not as I do." Libs really don't have any core beliefs. Oh yeah, they're good at yelling and hollering about what they believe real good, but when the rubber meets the road...

GL, from my very brief look into this earth-shaking matter, it seems the issue is not the weight loss, per se, but rather how it was done and how it was conveyed to the audience. There is widespread belief that SJ used gastric bypass to lose 150 lbs in one year, but she alternately denies or will not discuss doing so.
There's also the issue of plugging businesses on the show or her website that gave her free services for her wedding.
The bottom line, the story goes, is that the brass felt she was "losing the audience".
I haven't a clue how true any of this is, but their might be more to this than reverse lookism.
One takeaway here is that regardless of what official feminist orthodoxy may say, weight seems to be a very important issue to many women.
