His name won't appear on the ballot next week, but Rep. Tom Tancredo is the phantom factor haunting a Republican congressional primary in Utah.

I remember. I was new to FreeRepublic then so kept more quiet.
We get KFI here in Arizona and when I lived in California I used to listen to John and Ken on the drive home from work and I followed the whole David Drier episode. My take on this, two years later, is that even though Drier was re-elected (not difficult when a terrible Dem was running against him) it did affect him. It's a good thing to put the fear into these representatives and senators every once in a while to let them know who they work for.

I'm sure you objected when GWB openly professed his faith in Christ too during the 2000 campaign, right? Yep professed his faith in Christ, not cowering in fear of satan, big difference.

"'Right now, I would not encourage him to leave. If he chose to resign as majority leader until these matters are resolved, that's probably not the worst idea.' "
House Republican Party rules demand it.

Do you have a link to that?

Tancredo even had a statement on his own website, after he had time to think about it, so it was not just a thoughtless statement. Since then, of course, he removed it from his website, but I quoted him at the time:

HERE IS TANCREDO'S STATEMENT FROM HIS OWN WEBSITE:
Tancredo Statement on Majority Leader DeLay
I believe that all of the charges against Tom DeLay I have seen to date lack merit. I believe they are being leveled in the hopes of brining him down, and with him the Republican Majority, said Tancredo. However if the Majority Leader were to temporarily step aside so that these trumped up charges can be dealt with in a less hostile environment, as they have proven to be an unnecessary distraction, it may be a productive move.

I read the book of Mormon once (to educate myself), and living where I have all my life and interacting with so many Mormons these comments are not as off the wall as they are being made to sound. Well maybe Mormons don't feel it is off the wall and if so then that scares the DEVIL out of me as far as elected officials are concerned.

If you believe in Christ, you also believe in the existence of Satan.
Satan is part and parcel of the Christian religion.

Dane has no room to talk, I've seen him trash Reagan many times if it would help further his open border cause. No tactic is beneath him when it comes to that.
To: Jameison
Only the Dems AND Tancredo were asking DeLay to resign.

it's all about their hatred of Tancredo. And of course not of tancredo's hatred of 100% ACU conservative Chris Cannon.
BTW, get back to me when Chris Cannon starts a PAC to get rid of tancredo.

What putdown? Anyway do you want a Congressman who cowers in fear about satan? You still don't get it Dane.
Jacob was speaking openly about his faith and how much evil there is in the world.
But it's OK when Ashcroft and Bush talk about the very same thing but you didn't bash them.
To: Extremely Extreme Extremist
Even though I'm not a Mormon, I know enough about their history to find some of the comments people are making really amazing.
To: Jameison
Good GOD! Are you REALLY defending this guy blaming bad business deals on SATAN? That is nuts.

I know I'm not voting for DeVos in Michigan without hearing something from him on immigration. "First you take illegals and sell them some soap. Then you have them each sell to 2 others. Eventually, you can become a Diamond Direct Coyote..."

Both Cannon and Jacob are conservative Republicans. However, in this extremely safe Republican district the race now is between the one who is for amnesty, rewards, and privileges for illegal aliens and the one who is for securing the border and enforcing the law. Who's for amnesty?
