After being in Vienna for the EU-US summit for talks ranging from the Iran nuclear standoff to ways of reducing the West's foreign energy dependence, President and Mrs. Bush arrived in Budapest for a brief visit. The Bush's and SoS Rice listened to the Vienna Boys' Choir, among other cultural activities.
President and Mrs. Bush participated in a roundtable with foreign students in Vienna.

***I still don't understand that...we didn't want to hurt these countries feelings?...we all know that Russia and Syria helped hide this stuff..***
It's been suggested that not announcing the find was an act of diplomacy, or rather a weapon to hold over the heads of the countries which were involved in order to get their cooperation on other world matters. Perhaps it is NOW the time to tell the world about them.

The expressions on President Bush's face are hysterical! He's not quite sure what to think about that guy. :)

President Bush said everything right today. Where his adversaries take rude cheap shots, he is calm and polite.
What he said: "[P]eople can say what they want to say. But leadership requires making hard choices based upon principle and standing."
What he meant:

RE: George and Laura; I just LAUGH when I see the tabloids that say they're splitting up--it's just so awesome to see them together. Anyone with EYES can see how in love they are! Marriage in trouble. Right. That's why they look like a couple of kids who can't wait to get a room.

Well, getting here at my regular "LATE" time. NO toaster tonight.
Love the sparkly sanity Island Gretchen.. I have gone to the sites & made a few things but they always have their logo on them.. need to learn more I guess.
thank you for the dose.. have not gone beyond post one but am looking forward to the pix. Wondering if the sadness of the two murdered men will show on his face. so much good news & then this ... just wipes all the good away from our souls.
That is terror... taking away the joy of life.
Well, had a long walk in woods IN TERRIBLE STORM because dear little Josy decided to go "somewhere". She was gone for two hours & I was really worried & really praying..
Heavy electrical activity here. I should prolly be off computer

I keep thinking "This man is almost SIXTY!" Didn't people used to be old and not sexy at sixty?? In Dubya's case, I think sixty is the new twenty-five.

Thanks once again for the great articles. I really almost can even think about those two soldiers. I do pray for their loved ones. I can't understand why there isn't more of about this--but I guess I shouldn't be surprised.

Kudos to the Chancellor. So many people want to beat our Dubya down. It was so great to hear someone pick him up today.

Fantastic posting work tonight, Gretchen, both the photos and the legends. Without this dose I would not have any idea of the beautiful things the First Couple have done in Vienna. Even the choir boys look happy to meet W. Have you noticed how people always look him in the eye, because he looks straight at them.

You're welcome ... I was yelling .. "Yes... yes!" 'bout time those people remember who was there, bled, died, freed them and stuck around to help them rebuild and get stable. And 'bout time the officials there put their arrogance and petulance aside and state the truth.
