I guess if the weapons discovered were not made after 1991 then they don't count regardless of whether they are dangerous or not.

But why would Saddam keep old weapons that were not effective if it was illegal for him to have them?

Heh, Ann Coulter just cleaned Colme's clock: "Do you ever listen to yourself?" when Colmes claims he's never defended Saddam. Colmes looks like he's at his own funeral.

"Did anyone see pbs frontline hit piece on bush admin. last night?"

Let me offer some anecdotal evidence on the Corporation for Public Broadcasting. I used to work for a company that shared an office building with them. I would describe the employees of CPB that I saw as "middle-of-the-left wing". Not raving Marxists, but to the left of Alan Colmes. I recall encountering one on the elevator who was very upset that there was a celebration of the Gulf War One victory on the Capitol Mall. I have no doubt what these people think of the present conflict.

Great point. If these are not true WMD's, let Colmes and the lib-babe take some home and put on their cereal-- no danger, right?

"Of course the reality is that her hubby still gets national security briefings and he has known for a long time that Iraq had WMDs."

Is this for real? Do ex-presidents continue to get security briefings?

I did listen to that exchange between Ann and Colmes and got far too much joy out of it :-)

2 Reasons why this is significant to me:

1. Saddam told everyone that EVERYTHING had been destroyed.

2. One soldier I know was present when delivery devices and precursor chemicals were dug out of the sand in Iraq. I can only assume it wasn't announced because the result would only be folks saying: "Precursors aren't the same as WMDs."

Do ex-presidents continue to get security briefings?

Yes. Jimmy Carter, Gerald Ford, George Bush 41 and Bill Clinton are briefed regularly.

Santorum was on Hugh Hewitt earler today (transcript on Radioblogger.com), and was asked about his Democrat colleagues interest in the WMD report:

HH: Have you approached any of your colleagues from the other side of the aisle, Senator Rockefeller comes to mind, and ask them in the interest of national security to confirm your assessment?

RS: In fact, I just left the floor of the United States Senate, and asked each one of my colleagues to go up and look at it. This is a secret document. This is not a top secret document. This is a document that every member of the United States Senate has access to. And if they want to go upstairs in the Capitol building to look at this document, they can do so tonight.

HH: And did you get any response as you exited the floor? Were there other Senators about?

RS: Well, Senator Boxer was the next speaker, and she didn't comment at all on what I said. She moved on to another subject.

It's now time to flood the Internet with this information. No point in keeping anything back now.

I just want to get it on the record that Alan Colmes is a worthless person. I cannot stand to listen to him any more.

I wish that someone were on other than Ann. The whole thing is getting sidetracked into discussing statements she has made.

What I've been hearing, scuttlebutt, talk show noise...is that the administration did NOT want to go here.

The admin simply wanted to concede the point over WMD's as there had been faulty intelligence and it was too much to deal with.

A scenario I believe, Sink good buddy, because the President has done one lousy butt job of communicating all that was horrible about Saddam to the American public. All those tenuous connections to Al-Queda, all that sneakery that JVeritas' translations are revealing.

The President knew about this. Bush did the right thing as I am sure Clinton knew about it too. But the left getting that precious talking point for what? Four years now? That talking point about no WMD's...Sink, that was a killer. It was a killer and Bush, Rove, Cheney, whoever made the decision, it was really a bad idea.

A bunch of biological weapons that were degraded? So why did Saddam keep them? Why didn't he turn the degraded crap over to the UN weapons guys? Saddam, goodness, he could have been hailed as a hero, an upstanding guy who was turning over his old chemical stockpiles all good and proper.

Saddam didn't turn those chemicals over because he wanted to keep them. Wherever he had them hid it was a good spot. The UN guys didn't find them; our coalition forces did. Even just a little Sarin gas is a bad thing. I'm betting Saddam hung onto those chemicals as an ace in the hole. And talk all night, I'm not convinced those chemicals were harmless.

Better, why didn't the President present the case, just like I did above? Couldn't he at least have sent out some talking guys to make the case?

This administration allowed "No weapons of WMD's" to become an ingrained talking point and this will be difficult to overcome, if ever.

Bad decision. I might be just an American slob and not part of the politically elite, but I know a plain bad decision when I look it in the eye.

Democrats don't want to read any facts that will get in the way of their lies and agenda.

They did the same thing during the impeachment hearing when they wouldn't go to the Ford building to look at evidence that Clinton raped a woman.

These people stink. They don't care about anything except being proven right. They would be horrified by any success in Iraq.

This is such big news that I'm disappointed FNC is even talking about Ann's statements in her book. It's been rehashed and rehashed already. Enough.

The weapons they were stuffed in may be but the chemicals were still dangerous..especially if passed off to AQ.And, of course, we may find more. Saddam was to have destroyed all of these , of course, so finding any is proof he was lying.

Most of the IEDs are made with 1991 and pre-1991 ammo.
