AMMAN, Jordan
Saddam Hussein and his seven co-defendants went on a hunger strike Wednesday to protest the killing of an attorney on the defense team, Saddam's chief lawyer said. Khalil al-Dulaimi told The Associated Press, "President Saddam and other members of his leadership went on a hunger strike today to protest the killing of Khamis al-Obeidi."
"They pledged not to end the strike until international protection is provided to the defense team," said al-Dulaimi, who was visiting Jordan.

Cindy and Saddam, how utterly appropriate!
To: dinoparty
Cool he is doing us a favor...

Cindy Sheehan and Saddam are both trying to get some measure of control and influence in the world.
In Saddam's case, I think it is the desperation of knowing he isn't getting away.
In Cindy's case, IMO it is her just trying to remain important, trying to effect November elections and hoping to make a pile of cash over her dead son's body.
This will sell highlights for the main stream media.
This is great stuff for the news to obsess about to sell advertising and to sensationalize for to try and get a few more viewers.
Bottom line is that there is a mutual symbiotic relationship between the main stream press and dictators & crazy antiwar protesters.
They need each other for some level of survival.

I wish we could treat saddam and his bloodthirsty minions the way the jihadi criminals treated our captured heros!!
