Deranged Left, Drive-By Media Celebrate Torture Death of Two American Soldiers (FR mentioned)
Rush Limbaugh ^ | 6/20/06 | Rush

You had Democratic presidential candidates out there at this thing. You had all kinds of media. This was one of the biggest nonevents in terms of influence and making things actually happen. But yet all these powerful bigwigs in the Democratic Party, the Drive-By Media, went out there, as though this was the first time something like this has happened. You know, and I kept thinking, the Freepers have been around doing this for a decade or more, longer than that, and have never gotten anything other than ridicule from the Drive-By Media, and these people at this left-wing blog convention are genuine lunatics, genuine kooks who are being granted the presumption of sanity, substance and size simply because they're a bunch of libs.

The situation in Vietnam is different from the situation in Iraq for so many reasons. In my opinion the biggest reasons are 1) the Armed forces are all volunteer; and 2) Iraq is a theatre in the larger war with the Jahidists.

This is different from where we started this discussion and from what you said. I wasn't comparing Iraq to Vietnam, I made the statement (in effect) that the left's strategy for defeat in Iraq is predicated on the success they had in turning the tide of public opinion against the war in Vietnam.

I would also that the left's position on Vietnam wasn't the beginning of their downfall. Rather, IMO, it was the Carter presidency and the clown parade of Mondale and Dukakis that followed that was the start of their slide down the slippert slope to the bottom. Clinton sealed the deal and brought forth a newer, nastier, meaner, more partisan, more socialist party. The likes of Dean, Kerry, Kennedy, Kucinich, Daschle, Pelosi and Reid have served only to drag the Dem party into deeper into the sludge and slime.

HARWOOD: -- that the toll of this war, more than three years long, 2,500 US troops killed so far has been growing, continues to grow. This is certainly a setback for the administration and perhaps in public relations terms a worse setback than the step forward he took with Zarqawi.

Please explain to me under what circumstances that the total number of casualties would decrease.

What a damn fool.

They (dems) have bet their entire political fortunes on American defeat in Iraq. That is simply amazing and, in my opinion, will go down as the biggest political blunder in American history.

You're right.

I heard on a local conservative radio talk show, WMAL, 630 AM, Chris Core show, that the Muslim Association Of America has put out a statement condemning the butchering of our two soldiers. It was around 10 AM, EST.

that the Muslim Association Of America has put out a statement condemning the butchering of our two soldiers.

I checked their website and didn't see anything. I also searched google news. This article was the nearest thing but did not mention the two soldiers:

'We need to fight terrorism together'

Thanks for looking - I could have misheard it while driving. Are there any other Muslim organizations similarly named?

FYI - Chris Core was being extremely restrained in his anger. He really wanted to say something about carpet bombing several towns held by the terrorists, but didn't.

I ma frustrated that the initial reports said 2 of the three vehicles left the scene, leaving this one behind.

We have NEVER reacted to enemy contact by splitting up. That separates your fire support from crew served weapons, etc.

I hope it was the lsm getting it wrong again, but I just don't think we will ever find out.

"I ma frustrated"= I AM frustrated. Apparently so frustrated I can't spell straight let alone see straight.

Good lick. Let's all give these guys a phone call and let them know their statements are overdue and possibly mislaid.

The Iraqi government people who announced the bodies had been found did denounce their murders as "barbaric" in manner. So some of the good guys are on the record.

Don't allow yourself to be disarmed.

Would it be an idea if friends and families here Stateside began chipping in to get our guys some Smith Airweights or titanium Tauruses to carry with? Well, lessee, they'd have to be chambered for standard mil-spec loads.....which are all autoloaders, more's the pity.

What about Para-Ordnance P-10's in .45 ACP as backup pieces, or lightweight Kel-Tec, Glock, and Ruger 9's? Kidnap this.

I've read old war stories about how those Smith Airweights made a big difference to a few Huey pilots in Viet Nam who got rushed by NVA's in overrun LZ's. Comments from anyone who was there?
