Yes. The newspaper was a state-run, state-sanctioned newspaper and nothing was published without Saddam's approval either directly or through his henchmen.
Hmmm...that is something I have never heard before. How did Steven Reeve get this information?
I believe that's a possibility and they thought maybe we knew it and would attack them also? I don't know, there are many possibles I guess.
The author is Simon Reeve and I'd have to take the book out of the library again and see what his source was.
Fitz Hollings read it on the floor of the Senate.
I'm sure we were monitoring their newspapers since they were all state-run and state sponsored.
There has got to be a better translation available. I know Arabic is a nebulous round about language, but there have to be folks at the Army's Foreign Language school who can do a better job than this
Yeah, no kidding. Here's a little clue for those people out there who are still perplexed, or in denial:
I think we need to research this one.
Exactly.
Thanks.
Hey Mark, thanks, I want to watch it and make sure it is not as horrible as it felt when I was doing the interview, if it is okay, I am going to try and post it on my site, maybe this weekend
The more I read the documents the more I suspect that the WMD or Precursors of the WMD were buried in the Anbar Province in the Desert West.
Excellent work!
BUMP
That is the Western Desert.
Thank you very much, I am honored by your praise :)
I try the best I can.

I'll take your take on this. Time will tell.
That said, thanks for all you are doing with these documents, jveritas. You are doing a great service for your country (and this site). A thousand kudos and continuing thanks....
Awwwgg! What can I say; I called it as I saw it. Good for a first time interview on a national news network, but more practice (which I'm sure you'll get!) will make it better.
FR refresher point for CD: Watch what you say on here. You never know who may be a FReeper!
