Beyond immigration: While he says he doesn't mind that immigration has been the centerpiece of this primary contest, he also wants to be known for his other work. In keeping with his complex persona, one of his proudest accomplishments is the "Internet Tax Nondiscrimination Act," to block taxation of the Internet and e-mail. As chairman of the House Judiciary Subcommittee on Commercial and Administrative Law, Cannon heads up legislation such as reform of class-action litigation and the new bankruptcy law. Cannon is the only House member from Utah to hold a chairmanship. He admits it can be boringly titled but argues that the topics are sexy in some ways, too. The future of governing, he says, is through interstate compacts overseen by his subcommittee and not centralized decision-making. Again, it's the new, detailed Cannon - a good thing, says House Judiciary Chairman James Sensenbrenner, R-Wis. "What I can say is, in Congress there are workhorses and showhorses," Sensenbrenner says. "Chris Cannon is the workhorse. Workhorses get things done in Congress."

But James Sensennbrenner doesn't, oh that's right because Sensennbrenner thinks with his head and not with his knees ala tancredo.
So I see you admire the thinking with your knees tancredo approach, instead of the thinking with your brain Sensenbrenner approach.
cannon is owned - lock, stock, and barrel - by the illegal immigration forces. mostly a local utah issue - the local economy is fueled entirely by population growth - real estate, banking, retail...all major contributors.
Got a link?
*BUMP for John Jacob*
Or, could your interest in Cannon be that he is the open border Republican canary in the cage? If Cannon is defeated, Republicans will flee from amnesty like scalded dogs.
Please don't bother to rhapsodize about what a great conservative Cannon is, or extol his ACU ratings. The only reason you are concerned about Cannon is immigration, and that too is why for all but the FROBL, he need be defeated.
I don't have to. Good conservative James Sensenbrenner gives glowing praise to Chris Cannon.
I'm expecting you all to be throwing out the FROBL or traitor moniker towards him any day now.
If Cannon goes down, amnesty for illegals is dead and buried.
Sensebrenner's support is not surprising. The incumbents always support each other.
I don't care if Ronald Reagan's ghost campaigned for Cannon. He is an open border chamber of commerce butt boy and deserves a long sabbatical in the private sector.
Yep, a statement you claim I posted....so where's the link to this post??
Either post it, or admit to simply making it up.
yep, & here's more on those who support Cannon....."La Raza"

(snip)
Washington, DC The National Council of La Raza (NCLR), the largest national Hispanic civil rights and advocacy organization in the U.S., will hold its 2005 Capital Awards Dinner at the National Building Museum in Washington, DC on Tuesday, March 8. At this years annual gala, NCLR will honor Senator Christopher Dodd (D-CT) and Congressman Chris Cannon (R-UT) for their leadership on legislation that has had a significant impact on the Hispanic community.
How could Cannon be in the Free Republic Open Border Lobby (FROBL), without being a Freeper?
The FROBL tag is for Freepers, maybe even such as yourself, that are against any issue, measure, agenda, or candidate that might serve to impede the free flow of illegals into the country.
Like syphilis, the FROBL is The Great Imitator. The FROBL poses as taking a conservatives stance on issues that just happen to facilitate illegal flow. They claim their motivation is that they are pro-business, or pro Bush, or pro-farmer, or pro-libertarian, or pro-spending restraint or in this case pro internet tax nondiscrimination.
In this particular, Dane, you do not support Cannon's pro-amnesty views, but rather you claim you support him based on everything else. Or because Tancredo opposes him. Everyone knows, however, it is solely because of Cannon's immigration views you posted the article.
If you do not like the FROBL moniker, please suggest another descriptive title.
