Fox news reports General Caldwell will have briefing regarding missing soldiers. Coming up......
A tactic which will only be usable once. The next time will be a trap.
A time for prayers for our service people...
If they are alive I do not envy them. I just hope this isn't some new tactic on the part of the insurgents.
We have a major Op going on in Afghanistan, and North Korea is stirring things up. Iran is not helping things much, with them trying to make Iran glow in the dark with Uranium.
In the Battle of the Bulge, nobody thought Hitler would do anything so stupid. The Strategic Effect of the Battle of the Bulge was to drain Nazi Germany's resources so that the war did end in a much shorter period of time. The German reserves were depleted by this military folly.
However, it did have an effect on Allied positions (tactical victory for the Germans of limited use).
On the other hand, the Tet Offensive of 1968 was also a desparate act that severely depleted the resources of the Viet Cong, but was a political victory because of brave Americans like Hanoi Jane (sarcastic remark!)
It should worry Americans that Hanoi Jane has an influence on CNN because of who her husband used to be (Ted Turner, founder of CNN).
Maybe Al Qaida is seeking a bloodless coup to take over CNN with this action...
Maybe the FBI/SWAT should storm CNN to make sure there are no Al Qaida operatives in the production booth or behind the cameras ans microphones [ /sarcasm off ]
Maybe in 1968 Hanoi Jane was more a threat to National Security (along with John Kerry et al) than the VC were in Vietnam... They intended to bomb our veterans returning home from Vietnam with crap and garbage when our troops returned to American Soil...
Maybe the Capital Police should keep an eye on the contacts of Nancy Pelosi before she pulls a Benedict Arnold...
After all, what is really important right now is Democratic control of the US Congress...
Just ask Al Qaida and Ted Kennedy...
Expand on that, if you will.
I'm not sure exactly where this happened - perhaps it was an area perceived as relatively safe. In any case, if this actually occurred because a small group of soldiers was left in a vulnerable position, I'm sure that policy will change. So far the military hasn't released much detail about the event, to my knowledge.
And yes, you're right. As far as the Dems are concerned, it's all about them. What war?
1. Troopies are aware of what was done
2. ROE are efectively changed
3. Troopies are pissed
1+2+3 = More dead ragheads.
Prayers for you and your son and all others in the Mountain Division. I hope this division was not involved, and I hope you can find out quickly to put your mind at rest.
No word from General Murtha or Marxine Waters on how the heinous </sarcasm> acts of these soldiers has led to this.
Yeah, 1st BCT. I heard this happened a little south of Baghdad. My son has been patroling around there in the past.
Thank you for the prayers!
God be with these soldiers
This looks like a job for the Freeper Prayer Warriors!
/subtle hint
If we have only 2 or 3 soldiers at a check point they are usually with several Iraqi military or police. If that was the case the Iraquis turned on our men. I think we trust them too easily.
No, it's much more likely that their Hummer was isolated somehow. Maybe cut off on some narrow city street or something like that, but not likely that they were out at a checkpoint by themselves.
I think you are assuming way too much.
Assuming what? That we are too trusting or they turned on us? Maybe. Watch and see.
I can't imagine any US soldier who was alive and capable of resisting being taken captive by these animals. If knocked out by a blast and they wake up in chains, that's a bit different
My guess is that they were with a contingent of Iraqi soldiers/police and one or more of the Iraqi police/soldiers were working for the other side.
I certainly hope not. It seems in the last few days that we have been getting very good cooperation out of the Iraqis, so I hope none of them were behind this.
Thank you. Details don't seem to be forthcoming on this one, so I suppose we're all guessing and going by what we heard from this person or that.
