This needs to change ASAP (groups of only 2 or 3 soldiers at checkpoints). It should be an immediate order to avoid fanatical response to the death to Zaraqawi... The terrorist groups in Iraq are very desparate.

We have a major Op going on in Afghanistan, and North Korea is stirring things up. Iran is not helping things much, with them trying to make Iran glow in the dark with Uranium.

In the Battle of the Bulge, nobody thought Hitler would do anything so stupid. The Strategic Effect of the Battle of the Bulge was to drain Nazi Germany's resources so that the war did end in a much shorter period of time. The German reserves were depleted by this military folly.

However, it did have an effect on Allied positions (tactical victory for the Germans of limited use).

On the other hand, the Tet Offensive of 1968 was also a desparate act that severely depleted the resources of the Viet Cong, but was a political victory because of brave Americans like Hanoi Jane (sarcastic remark!)

It should worry Americans that Hanoi Jane has an influence on CNN because of who her husband used to be (Ted Turner, founder of CNN).

Maybe Al Qaida is seeking a bloodless coup to take over CNN with this action...

Maybe the FBI/SWAT should storm CNN to make sure there are no Al Qaida operatives in the production booth or behind the cameras ans microphones [ /sarcasm off ]

Maybe in 1968 Hanoi Jane was more a threat to National Security (along with John Kerry et al) than the VC were in Vietnam... They intended to bomb our veterans returning home from Vietnam with crap and garbage when our troops returned to American Soil...

Maybe the Capital Police should keep an eye on the contacts of Nancy Pelosi before she pulls a Benedict Arnold...

After all, what is really important right now is Democratic control of the US Congress...

Just ask Al Qaida and Ted Kennedy...

I'm not sure exactly where this happened - perhaps it was an area perceived as relatively safe. In any case, if this actually occurred because a small group of soldiers was left in a vulnerable position, I'm sure that policy will change. So far the military hasn't released much detail about the event, to my knowledge.

And yes, you're right. As far as the Dems are concerned, it's all about them. What war?
